Dear Self-Directing Participants and Employees,

We have exciting news to share with you!

Today we take a major step forward—a step that allows us to go even deeper into our mission and serve the unmet needs of more people in our community.

As of today, The Arc Central Chesapeake Region has separated from The Arc Maryland and the national Arc network. There won’t be changes to our services because of this separation, we’ll continue to respond in real-time to the vast, varied needs of the communities we serve across Maryland. We will also continue to support people with disabilities to live the lives they choose and are proud to do so under our new name.

As of today, we are Fello.

The name Fello is a strong reflection of who we are and what we do as fellow neighbors, fellow citizens, and fellow allies working together toward a shared vision.

At Fello, we believe in the power of connection. Of individuality. Of a collective strength, because when we stand together with purpose and resolve, nothing is impossible.

Here, we build trust, foster respect, and create community—together.

Together, we are Fello. Together, we belong.

As always, the people we support remain at the center of everything we do. Our mission, core values, facilitated services, self-directed services, behavioral health, and housing and community development are not changing. This transition will only strengthen our ability to be the innovative, person-centered organization you know us to be.

Our housing and community development subsidiaries, Chesapeake Neighbors and Chesapeake Community Development, have converged and, as of today, become Fello Communities. As Fello and Fello Communities, we have new opportunities to create communities where everyone has a place and a voice. We are excited for the ways this transition will allow us to continue growing, elevating our services, and reimagining our communities.

We are proud of all we accomplished as The Arc Central Chesapeake Region over the last 64 years and will continue advocating for people with disabilities alongside others.

We are thrilled for you to join us on this journey as we continue supporting people with disabilities in Maryland to live the lives they choose by creating opportunities, promoting respect and equity, and fostering inclusion in communities.

Sincerely,

Jonathon Rondeau
