Ernestina in New Bedford Harbor
Dear Friend,
It is an exciting time in the life of Ernestina-Morrissey - she is on the verge of being restored to her glory as a sailing vessel, which is because of the support of people like you.

When we last wrote, I was able to report that DCR Commissioner Jack Murray and former Commissioner Ed Lambert were working on an exciting opportunity that will ensure a successful sailing, educational future for a fully rebuilt Ernestina-Morrissey.

That plan is still in place. Due to the inclement weather and late start in the season, the DCR is now planning to transport Ernestina-Morrissey to Booth Bay, Maine for evaluation in March rather than now.

When the estimate comes back, we will be ready with funds to support the plan. As you may be aware, the Hildreth Stewart Charitable Foundation is offering a $125,000 challenge gift for the 2013 tax year (just two more days!) Every dollar, up to $125,000 that is donated will be matched. Help us meet the challenge!

Please help restore Ernestina-Morrissey and make a transformative gift that will help her sail again. And if you have already made a gift, thank you, thank you!!!

With gratitude and hope,

Julius Britto and the SEMA Board of Directors
