You can cook up success for newcomers
Dear CCI Friend,

I want to share with you news about one of our most popular programs for young newcomers. It's our Cooking Program.

The Cooking Program teaches young newcomers how to to cook healthy meals on a budget. We run the program in a professional kitchen, where we show them how to wash and chop vegetables, prepare simple and nutritious meals, and clean up. We also do field trips to local grocery stores to teach them how to read labels, look for sale prices, and pick fresh produce.

Our Cooking Program has proven so popular that we now have young newcomers signing up weeks in advance. It's the type of program that helps youth with real life skills aimed at making it easier to settle and integrate into a new community.

When you support CCI Ottawa, this is one example of how your donation helps young newcomers.

Please donate today and make an impact in the lives of young newcomers.

 Kindest regards,

Carl Nicholson
Executive Director
Cooking up a Canadian breakfast
A healthy breakfast is important for anyone who wants to start their day off right. But for young newcomers, Canadian breakfast food can appear strange.

That's why we hosted a Canadian breakfast for young newcomers during their March Break earlier this month.

One young newcomer, Vincaire, was happy to try a breakfast shake as well as a boiled egg. Also on the menu were pancakes served with traditional Canadian maple syrup.

It was the first March Break in Canada for both boys. In addition to breakfast, they participated in a variety of March Break activities, including a yoga class, workshops and a trip to the movie theatre where they got to sample another Canadian treat: popcorn.

You can support activities for young newcomers by making a donation today .

The power of monthly giving
Thank you for supporting refugees and immigrants. Your support means so much to the people who come to Ottawa to escape war, violence and poverty.

But did you know you can have a greater impact by becoming a monthly donor? Making a donation once a month adds up to a big impact by the end of the year.

A monthly donation also provides stability and predictability for you and CCI. It's easy to sign up and is a more affordable way to give that adds up over time.

You can sign up for our monthly giving program by visiting our  donation page emailing Dora   or calling 613-232-9634, ext. 359.
