The last two weeks at Tailwheel Town

To those who wrote me on the occasion of my announcement of my retirement from much of my teaching, THANK YOU!  But I have to say that, in spite of

Brian with the Pawnee Towplane at Sunriver Soaring.

the nice things you all said about my teaching, I think you may have forgotten the role that YOU have played in becoming better pilots.  Because, if you didn't have the desire to improve through practice, your skills couldn't be improved by anyone.  It is YOU who have been responsible for your own improvement.

I took a week off to go backpacking in Idaho with Actor/Writer/Producer Doug Copsey and Emmy Award winning cinematographer and director, Norman Nelson.  We had a great time.  Lot of sweat and talk of our history and creations.  I can't wait for next year's trip!

This Week's Article

Seeing as how it was the flat turn that got me started in this silly business, it was only right to bring it back and teach it to a few advanced students.  So here is a fairly new article about one of them and her reactions to the maneuver.

maneuver, which is on one hand really easy and on the other incredibly hazardous.  I guess that's why Acme doesn't teach it!  But I
do!
