The pandemic has required all of us to make changes this year. While some of these changes have been heartbreaking to experience, others have provided inspiration that no doubt will ripple forth in positive ways for many years to come.
I believe that change also brings opportunity. At the SunriseGuide, we are fortunate to work with some of the best, most heart-full and conscientious, small businesses and organizations in Maine. And we have watched with deep respect at how our community has pulled together and moved forward with love and innovation, rethinking long-held approaches to how we produce and deliver products and services. At the same time, we also know that many of our small business partners are struggling.
As a small independent media company, we, too, have had to rethink our products and make some changes this year. The biggest change is that we have decided to hit the pause button and not publish a 2021 SunriseGuide at this time. It was a difficult decision to make, but one born of the time we are living in.
But have no fear, we are not going away! We have shifted our efforts and are building our digital presence and expanding the Green & Healthy Maine magazines with a new Winter edition. It releases at the end of December and we are excited to share it with you. The format of the magazine allows us to continue to deliver the content that you have come to know and love from us, while making it easier and more economical to get the publication directly into your hands. While the printed SunriseGuide is on hold, we will continue to share news and inspiration, and connect you with Maine’s best local and eco-conscious businesses, through our digital channels, including our monthly email newsletters, website and social media pages.
