Diamond Hill Road and Douglas Pike Bridges over I-295, Cunberland/Smithfield
Alternating lane closures are scheduled for gas line installation on Route 7 over I-295 at the Douglas Pike Bridge, Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Foundation and wall work also will also take place in the south abutment (I-295 North side) of the Diamond Hill Road Bridge.

East Main Road Pavement Improvements, Middletown
We continue to install new curbing and replace concrete sidewalks and driveways involving weekday lane shifts along both directions of Route 138 (East Main Road), from Wyatt Road to Aquidneck Avenue, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. One lane of travel will be maintained in each direction, and motorists are advised to use caution when driving through the area and expect delays.

Bridge Group 18C_R – Frenchtown, East Greenwich/ North Kingstown
Expect various lane closures on Route 4 North and South, from Exit 5 to Exit 7, as we continue demolishing the existing structure at the Frenchtown Road Bridge, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Where the bridge has already been removed, construction of the new abutments, the bridge beam supports, and foundations will continue. Work on the South County Trail Bridge over Route 4 will continue with the installation of shielding and running a temporary waterline in preparation for demolition. We will also reconstruct the bridge beam supports and prep the beams offsite for their installation at the Devil's Foot Road Bridge.

I-95 15 Bridges, Providence/Cranston/Warwick
Next week at this project, crews will continue constructing the piers for the ramp bridges at the I-95/Route 10 interchange, placing flashing beacons on I-95 North near Eddy Street, and demolishing portions of the bridge carrying I-95 over an abandoned railroad spur. We apologize in advance for the noise and inconvenience this work may cause, requiring alternating lane closures in both directions of I-95, from Park Avenue to Thurbers Avenue, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Alternating lane closures will also occur during that same time frame on Route 10 North, from the Route 10 Interchange to Reservoir Avenue, to paint steel girders after minor repairs at the Pontiac Avenue Bridge over Route 10.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence
Painting and electrical work over Amtrak will require the closure of Exit 37C (Route 10 North) off I-95 North, Friday and Saturday nights (October 3 and 4), from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. We’ll also have alternating lane closures at this project on both directions of I-95, from Exit 37A to Exit 39A, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., to paint barrier, clean catch basins and stripe.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick/Johnston
Highway lighting improvements are prompting periodic overnight ramp closures, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. They include the I-295 North off ramp to Route 37 East (Exit 3B), and the Route 37 West off ramps to I-295 South (Exit 1A), and to I-295 North (Exit 1B). We’ll also have short term closures for one night along Route 37 West, from the on-ramp at Exit 1B (I-295 North) to I-295 South. Motorists also should anticipate alternating lane closures for paving on I-295 North, from Exit 3A/3B (Route 37) to Exit 9 (Route 6), Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and for milling and paving on I-295 South, in the vicinity of Route 37, Tuesday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The left shoulder will be closed for stormwater improvements on I-295 South, in the vicinity of Exit 7 (Scituate Avenue), and the right shoulder for landscaping on I-295 North at Exit 3A (Route 37 West), Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Alternating one-way traffic on Cranston Street below Route 37 is also scheduled for curb installation and sidewalk construction, Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Watch for frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zones and follow signed detours during all closures.
Drainage installation and milling require the noncurrent closures of Exits 8A and 8B off Route 146 North and South, the Route 146 North Service Road and Exit 18B off I-295 North and the Route 146 South Service Road and Exit 18A off I-295 South, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Both operations also involve alternating lane closures on I-295 North and South, from Exit 18A to Exit 18B. Please use caution when driving over milled surfaces and follow signed detours during all closures. School Street, Lincoln
For the next couple weeks, our crews working along School Street are solely shifting their attention to completing the new water main installation. Local traffic is permitted, with School Street closed from Route 126 (Old River Road) to Main Street in Albion, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. While the road is closed, through traffic is encouraged to follow the signed detours, which should be in place until December.

Warwick Corridor Project
Removing bridge beams will be our focus at this project next week. Along I-295 North at the East Avenue overpass we will have alternating lane closures, Sunday-Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to prep for bridge beam removal, then a full road closure Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to remove them. Along I-295 South at the East Avenue overpass we will have alternating lane closures, Sunday-Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to prep for bridge beam removal, then a full road closure Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to remove them. Along I-95 North at the East Avenue overpass we will have alternating lane closures, Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. to prep for bridge beam removal, then a full road closure Thursday night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. to remove them. Along I-95 South at the East Avenue overpass we will have alternating lane closures, Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for ongoing construction. Follow signed detours during all closures.

Washington Bridge & I-195, East Providence/ Providence
We anticipate the closures of up to two lanes for overnight bridge preservation on I-195 East, from Exit 1A to Exit 1C, Tuesday and Thursday nights, October 7 and October 9, from 10 p.m.-4 a.m. We also expect overnight lane closures for survey work, Monday night (right lane) and Tuesday night (left lane), October 6 and 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on I-195 West, from Broadway to South Main Street.
Alternating right lane closures are scheduled for a bridge inspection on I-195 East and West at the Washington Bridge, Sunday night, October 5 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews using boring equipment will be operating on both the Providence and East Providence shores and on the water next week, which is part of the initial design activities for the bridge replacement project. No lane closures are required for this work.
The approved in-water demolition work continues, Monday-Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. No work is currently planned after 6 p.m. to avoid any disruptive noise during evening hours. In accordance with CRMC guidelines, debris will be removed from the river as work progresses, placed onto barges and towed to land for transfer into trucks for offsite disposal. Temporary protective sheeting and turbidity curtains are in place.

Wickford Roundabout, North Kingstown
Expect alternating lane closures and one-way traffic at the intersection of Route 102 (Phillips Street) and Boston Neck Road at Brown Street as we continue to build the Wickford Roundabout. Street parking is restricted, and driveways/walkways blocked, as crews place crosswalk bricks and install sidewalk and driveways, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
