Years ago I read the book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People." I love the principle called "sharpening the saw." This is based on a parable of a lumberjack that spent all day cutting down trees. As he worked extra hours, he discovered the need to stop and sharpen the saw for continued productivity.
During this time of summer it is a great chance to renew and refresh the soul. "Sharpening the saw," is a good reminder for all of us that we are human beings, not human "doings." Even God rested on the Sabbath day.
