OSLC Schedule Changes

Hello OSLC,

Years ago I read the book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People." I love the principle called "sharpening the saw." This is based on a parable of a lumberjack that spent all day cutting down trees. As he worked extra hours, he discovered the need to stop and sharpen the saw for continued productivity.

During this time of summer it is a great chance to renew and refresh the soul. "Sharpening the saw," is a good reminder for all of us that we are human beings, not human "doings." Even God rested on the Sabbath day.

I will be on vacation from Thursday, July 2nd, through Wednesday, July 15th. During this time I will rest and renew. As a result of this vacation time, here are some updates on programming:
  • Coffee Hour: The next zoom coffee hour will be held on July 19th.
  • "Waking Up White" book study: This will begin on July 19th at
4 PM at Pioneer Park. In case of rain, we will meet online. Many have expressed the difficulty to find this book. The church has ordered 15 copies for members to purchase for $18. Contact Kathy Newton at info@oslcstillwater.org or 651-439-0834 (home phone) if you are interested in purchasing a book from the church.
  • Women's Bible study: This will be held on July 16th at 9:30 AM in the yard of Becky Maier, 663 S. Broadway in Stillwater. All women and friends of OSLC are invited to attend.
  • Drive-up Service: This will begin on July 15th at 6:30 PM. We are excited to host our first drive-up parking lot service. There will be no Wednesday worship on July 1st or July 8th.
  • Weekly Sunday morning online worship continues at 9 AM. Pastor Karna will prerecord the July 5th message and Pastor Keith Lentz will preach for us on July 12th. He is also available in case of pastoral emergency.
May your summertime be filled with rest and joy!

Faithfully,

Pastor Karna Moskalik
