Dr. Steven Meek, who has been a teacher at the high school, moves to the position of Assistant Principal. Meek has been a longtime English Language Arts Teacher at Ray-Pec High School, and was the ELA Department Chair for the school. He was also the International Baccalaureate Coordinator at Ray-Pec since the program began in 2015. Meek was also the district's Teacher of the Year in 2012.

Dr. Kristina Martin is the new Activities Director for the District. Dr. Martin had been the Associate Principal at Ray-Pec High School since 2013. Before becoming associate principal at RPHS, she worked one year in the Park Hill School District. From 2009 to 2012, she was principal of grades 7-12 for the Archie R-V School District. From 1999 to 2009, she worked for Ray-Pec as assistant principal of the Ray-Pec Freshman Center, and as a teacher and coach. Dr. Martin replaces Kirk Hipple, who resigned at the end of June.

Abe Lewis is the Director of the new Ray-Pec LEAD Center, under construction at M-58 and Foxridge Drive in Raymore. LEAD stands for Learning, Experiences, And Discovery. The center will open in August with several programs for Ray-Pec High School students. Lewis has been teaching industrial technology courses at the high school, including the Computer Integrated Machining and Manufacturing courses, which will move to the LEAD Center this fall. Lewis came to Ray-Pec in 2020 from the Adrian R-III School District, where he had been high school/middle school principal, and earlier was the assistant principal and activities director.

Administrative intern at RPEMS
Wendell Pritchett is the Administrative Intern at Ray-Pec East Middle School. He works with Principal Katie Campbell and Assistant Principal Cristin Blunt.

Pritchett has worked in the Ray-Pec School District since 2005, when he joined the district as an elementary school physical education teacher. He taught at Raymore, Bridle Ridge, and Eagle Glen elementary schools, before taking a P.E. teaching position at South Middle School.

Stacy Johnson, who had previously served as Assistant Principal at East Middle School and Principal of the Virtual Instruction Program of Ray-Pec (VIPR) is now the full-time principal for the VIPR program.

Elementary school administrative changes
Rebecca Kolkmeier is the new principal at Eagle Glen Elementary School. She replaces Dr. Robin Jones, who retired at the end of June.

Kolkmeier had been an Administrative Intern for the school district since 2019. She assisted the principals at Eagle Glen and Raymore elementary school in leading teachers and working with students and families. Kolkmeier came to Ray-Pec from the Independence School District, where she had most recently been Administrative Intern/Assistant Principal at James Bridger Middle School.

Courtney Graham and Keri Pinney are moving into Administrative Intern positions to serve elementary schools. The specific elementary school assignments will be announced soon. Both Graham and Pinney have experience as instructional coaches and teachers in the District.

Submit a utility bill to verify residency
When you register student(s), you must provide one document to verify residency. 

Acceptable proofs of residency include utility bills (water, electric or gas), in the resident's name, showing the service address. (Instructions were included in the July 11 email.)

To verify residency send an email to [email protected] and include the following information in the email message:
  • Name(s) of your student(s), grade level(s) and the school(s) they will attend.
  • Your address.
  • A phone number where you can be reached.

Attach a PDF copy of your electric, gas, or water bill (may be scanned) to the email.
  • The bill must be in the name of a parent or legal guardian in the primary resident household for the student.
  • The bill must show the service address (not just mailing address).
  • The bill must have been issued within the last 30 days.
  • A final notice or disconnect notice is not an acceptable proof of residency

  • Aug. 10: Purchase of high school parking permits will open at 7 a.m. Aug. 10.
  • Aug. 17: Meet the Teacher events for early childhood, elementary, and middle schools.
  • Aug. 18: Preview Day for incoming kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade students.
  • Aug. 22: First day of school.
