Shared Sidewalk Program
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT)'s popular Shared Cost Sidewalk Program reopens for applications on
Tuesday, January 12, 2016
. The program typically reaches capacity quickly, so apply early.
Shared Cost is an extremely popular voluntary program in which property owners share the cost of sidewalk repair with the City. Applications are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of participants is based on availability of funds.

Pink Residential Zone Guest Parking Passes Expire 12/31/15
Remember to buy new Blue passes that will be valid in 2016. The pink residential guest pass can, however, be used overnight on New Year's Eve 2015 as long as the time and date are before to 12:00 AM on 01/01/ 2016. .

Xmas Tree Recycling
St. Josaphat will recycle your tree for you.
Home pickup (either inside or curbside) will take place January 3 and January 10, and includes a free tree removal bag. 601 W. Diversey / Inn at Lincoln Park Plan Commission Information
Last Thursday, the Chicago Plan Commission unanimously approved the proposal to redevelop 601 W Diversey
(the current Inn at Lincoln Park). Several public meetings led to concessions by the developer and additional community benefits, including increased parking for the neighborhood, and special traffic measures to discourage traffic from going southbound on Lehmann Court. The documents before the Plan Commission can be found on my website.

he application deadline for the condo refuse rebate program is January 31, 2016, and no rebates will be granted for refuse collection costs incurred after December 31, 2015. First year applicants will not be approved for rebates. Please bring your forms to our office no later than January 8, 2016 (you may

Recycling Changes

A- Wet or dry, clean or dirty-napkins, tissues and paper towels go in the trash because the fibers are too short for recycling
City of Chicago announced that beginning January 1, 2016, all recyclables must be placed in the blue cart loose without a bag. Recyclables contained in bags of any kind will not longer be accepted. Click here for a fun quiz and easy to follow tips.
Ward Superintendant Marty Casey Honored
Cheers to our Streets and Sanitation Ward Superintendant, Marty Casey. His tireless efforts were recognized by the Wrightwood Neighbors Association December 13th with their 2015 Community Achievement Award. Marty works with residents and businesses on everything from snow removal to waste collection to construction site inspections. Thanks to Wrightwood Neighbors for honoring Marty in such a thoughtful manner. We agree that Marty does a wonderful job for our ward and our city!

Holiday Office Hours
The 43rd Ward Office will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24-25, and New Years Eve and New Years Day, December 31-January 1.
The office will be opened for limited hours, 10 AM-3 PM, December 28-30.
