New M100 Bus Route!

Today, Council Member Rodriguez joined Senator Adriano Espaillat, the MTA, members of the Dyckman Houses community and representatives of NYRP to announce a change to the widely ridden M100 bus line Uptown. The M100 bus will now serve residents, shoppers and community members along the Dyckman corridor and 10th Avenue, bringing public transit to once under-served areas.

Traveling northbound, the bus will turn right from Broadway onto Dyckman St. making stops all along the corridor. It will then pass the Dyckman Houses and turn left onto 10th Avenue, where PS 5 is located. The bus will then drive up 10th Avenue providing bus service to a major swath of land where it did not previously exist.

This change is a result of Council Member Rodriguez's office (Marble Hill & Dyckman Houses Community Liaison, Tony Edwards in particular) working with Senator Espaillat's office, the Dyckman Residents' Association, Manhattan Community Board 12 and the MTA, to ensure more people have access to transportation, particularly wheelchair accessible transportation. As there exists a large senior citizen population within and around the Dyckman Houses, this is a timely and welcome change for many in this community.

We want to ensure that you are fully aware of the new route. The Bx7 will continue to operate north and south on Broadway in the areas that the M100 once operated so there will be no hitch in service. We will continue to look for ways to improve transportation uptown for our residents and constituents, particularly around areas of accessibility, affordability and convenience.

We hope you welcome the change as well!
