40 Years of Going for Gold

Join us on February 16, 2024, in Brooklyn, New York at 8pm for 40 Years of Going for Gold, Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the 1984 Olympic Men's Figure Skating Podium at Glide Brooklyn, an extraordinary evening of celebration and fundraising for cancer research. World-class skating talents are joining us to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1984 Olympic Men's Figure Skating Podium. Emceed by Scott Hamilton with appearances by his fellow 1984 Olympic Medalists Brian Orser and Jozef Sabovcik, 2022 Olympic Gold Medalist Nathan Chen, and performances by special guests to be announced, hosted at New York City's newest skating designation, Glide Brooklyn. 

Every moment of this once-in-a-lifetime evening supports cancer research through the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and our healthcare partners for this event, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

In 2023 we:



• Garnered support from donors in all 50 US states, 10 additional countries, and 6 Canadian Provinces.
• Received an average donation of $203 per individual donor, well over the nonprofit average of $121!
• Held 31 fundraising events, including Cars for CARES, An Evening of Spirits, Songs, and Stories, Scott Hamilton & Friends, and our national peer-to-peer program Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer, with events from Florida to Alaska
• Funded 15 grants for cancer research with our healthcare partners across the country!

Changing Gears for the Future

CARES was honored to recieve a $35,000 donation from our generous partners at Trucking for a Cure - Tennessee, thanks to their annual Golf Tournament! This group of logistical experts comes together from across the state to host a top-notch, turnkey golf tournament that includes a morning and afternoon tee-time, silent auction, banquet dinner, and a long list of impressive sponsors and supporting individuals. Together, we're making a powerful difference in the fight against cancer with this group at the wheel.
