Thoughtful Non-Profit Leadership
Specializing in Leadership Transitions
Winter into Spring
Greetings!

Change is the one constant in my work of preparing organizations for growth and transformation. I love watching the organizations I work with evolve and grow.

Since August, I have been honored to serve as Interim Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG. I was delighted to be able to put my decades of nonprofit systems experience to work in reorganizing the staff structure, creating job descriptions, improving communications both internally and externally, and creating a team.Though I've loved every minute of it, I am delighted to hand off the leadership to Sunnie Kaufmann-Paulman this month and prepare for my next opportunity!

Vista Cubana
In early January, I went to Cuba for the second time, this time in a group led by my former Hampshire College professors. Hampshire has had a student program there for 20 years and these two women know the Country well—I was once again struck by the contradictions and complexity of a small country unnecessarily called out by the US for its socialist policies. (Wish I could say I wrote this article ). We could have so much more influence if we would drop the 60 year old embargo—as we have seen elsewhere, our financial influence can create much more significant changes. It’s a beautiful country with wonderful people.
March: Board Workshop
O n March 11 in Lexington, I will be presenting my workshop “You Don’t Need an MBA to understand your nonprofit’s financials” designed to assist Board members and Executive Directors in understanding their financial statements. I use plain English to reduce the anxiety financials seem to cause ! . It's not too late to sign up!
