October 2019
Christmas Production
Greetings Eagles!
September flew by with the blink of an eye. I would like to thank our teachers and scholars who have worked diligently to incorporate Restorative Discipline Practices into our school and classrooms. Our school culture is positive, and the joy factor is present. I am pleased to see CREW Lessons happening every morning to help our scholars build character along with strong relationships with their teachers and friends. Another one of our goals is to deliver exciting, engaging, and rigorous instruction to help our scholars to deeply master objectives and grow in all academic areas.
All parents should have received progress reports last week. Please use this time to set goals with your scholar to motivate them to reach their full potential. Our scholars will take their 1st round of CBA testing the week of October 7th - 11th, so we can see exactly where they are and what must be done to meet each of their individual needs. The teachers will help scholars to set growth goals from the results. Our entire team is excited to witness the growth our scholars will make.
The month of October is full of exciting events for our scholars and families. We are planning some exciting activities to motivate our scholars to achieve at their highest level. In October, we will roll out our Eagle Bucks school-wide incentive program, a perfect attendance DANCE, and an Honor Roll Breakfast with the principal. We will also have Custodian’s Day, Picture Day, Boss’ Day, Red Ribbon Week, and Book Fair Week. See dates below.
Thanks to all of our parents who have continued to support us. I would like to give a shout out to our PTCO President, Ms. Sharita Fiest! She is hoping to build a strong coalition between our parents and the school to make this the best year ever for our scholars. I appreciate every parent that showed up for our 1st PTCO meeting in September. We will have a Coffee with the Principal Meeting on October 16th from 8:15-9:45 am. Please be present if you would like to be a chaperone for our upcoming Learning Labs and learn more about the exciting things happening at the RSPA Channelview location. Let's continue our great partnership to ensure our scholars will have a successful school year.

Thanks for all that you do,

Tonya McBride, M. Ed.

Parents please be mindful of our fellow scholars and parents. Although the parking lot is crowded, after 7:45 you must park and walk your scholar in. Drop off at the front building is reserved for Pre K and Crayon Club.

We have worked very hard on our dismissal process. Pre K will dismiss from the front where Crayon Club resides. Regular car riders will be dismissed from the back. Every student that rides the bus has been color coded according to the route they ride. If your scholar rides the shuttle to the Northshore Campus, please remember that is a bus stop. You MUST be there on time at 3:45 to pick up your child. Any child 1st grade or below still remaining by 4:00 will be taken back to Channelview to the Crayon Club for a drop in fee of $25.00. Please pick up by 1:20 on (early dismissal) Friday’s. At 1:30, your child will be taken back to the CV campus.
Dress Code
Scholars should always come to school in dress code. Oxford shirts are the ONLY shirts allowed. Starting October 1st, scholars will be asked to return home if they are not in dress code. Spirit or college shirts are allowed on Fridays. We will announce any special dress days ahead of time so your scholars can dress to impress.
