CHANNELVIEW
September 2019
Greetings Eagles!
We’ve had a great start to a brand-new 2019-2020 school year! We were all excited to see so many of our scholars and parents back with smiles on their faces. Our entire Channelview staff has come together to show you our excellent customer service skills. This year we have all committed to being professional, compassionate, and giving your family the very best we have to offer.

Here at RSPA, we are always establishing goals that ensure your scholar's success. Reading, Writing and Math achievement will soar this year. However, our teachers began the 1 st 2 weeks of school building relationships with their scholars. We also started the year off with the First 20 days of Reading and Math to help our scholars build routines that will enable their classroom cultures to be top notch. CV RSPA staff are focused on Restorative Discipline Practices to ensure the whole child is being serviced.

The school will continue initiatives to motivate students like, breakfast with the principal for those students who are on the A honor roll, and a perfect attenDANCE party for our scholars who come to school everyday!! Be sure to tell your scholar of all of the fun and exciting things going on.

Studies have shown that parent involvement is critical to continued success. In light of this, the Channelview campus will start an active PTC Channelview Organization. The PTC will help organize events where volunteers are needed and help raise funds for student activities. I hope to see everyone at the meeting on Thursday, September 11th at 6:00 p.m.

Thanks for all that you do,

Tonya McBride, M. Ed.

Arrival
Parents please be mindful of our fellow scholars and parents. Although the parking lot is crowded, after 7:45 you must park and walk your scholar in. Drop off at the front building is reserved for Pre K and Crayon Club.

Dismissal
We have worked very hard on our dismissal process. Pre K will dismiss from the front where Crayon Club resides. Regular car riders will be dismissed from the back. Every student that rides the bus has been color coded according to the route they ride. If your scholar rides the shuttle to the Northshore Campus, please remember that is a bus stop. You MUST be there on time at 3:45 to pick up your child. Any child 1st grade or below still remaining by 4:00 will be taken back to Channelview to the Crayon Club for a drop in fee of $25.00. Please pick up by 1:20 on (early dismissal) Friday’s. At 1:30, your child will be taken back to the CV campus.

Dress Code
Scholars should always come to school in dress code. Oxford shirts are the ONLY shirts allowed. Starting October 1st, scholars will be asked to return home if they are not in dress code. Spirit or college shirts are allowed on Fridays. We will announce any special dress days ahead of time so your scholars can dress to impress.

Campus Visitors
All visitors must sign-in in the front office before being allowed into the hallways and cafeteria.  Please refrain from picking your scholars up early. They are missing instructional time.
