Adult Pilgrimage to Ireland & Scotland

Every Sunday we are reminded that we are all at different places in our spiritual journey and that's okay. Some of us on our individual journeys can become comfortable and therefore reluctant to engage in difficult conversations. After many years of being comfortable, I am at a fork in the road of my spiritual journey and I feel inspired to create an opportunity to do just that.

Our church as been blessed with a wonderful opportunity to step our of our comfort zones and participate in a social injustice pilgrimage to Ireland and Scotland. We will experience the beauty of Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and St. Anne's Cathedral, but more importantly, we will engage in those difficult discussions when we hear from a former IRA or MLA member and the struggles of Scottish nationalism.

I have a deeply personal interest in this trip because my great grandparents immigrated to this country from Scotland and so began the paternal line of my family. I hope to be able to experience this wonderful trip to Ireland and Scotland with my church family -- share in the beauty of the places we will visit, share our thoughts and feelings as we discuss social injustices, share prayer and reflection time; share food and fellowship; share the love of Jesus Christ.

If you have ever felt inspired to take a risk, travel somewhere new, or just step out of your day to day, I encourage you to seize this opportunity. The deadline for the trip deposit is January 30th. Please contact Rev. Julia at [email protected] for further details.
