“Flipping A Coin”

Beginning today, half of everyone will be upset. No matter which candidate wins the elections, half of us will be losers. That’s not a guess. It’s a guarantee.

Maybe I’m a bit more optimistic than most people, but it’s my opinion that most people really want to live in peace and harmony with their family, friends, and neighbors. Most people don’t want to be at odds with one another. Still, given that elections are often decided by the thinnest of margins, we should recognize that if our candidate wins, someone else’s candidate loses.

This doesn’t mean the sky is falling. The last president to win 100% of the popular vote was George Washington. But guess what? No other candidate was available, so of course, he was going to win. But even then, it doesn’t mean that everyone was happy with the result.

It’s important for us to recognize that no matter what, all of us live in this world together. God created us because God values each of us and each of us has something to offer. In addition to that, God wants us to experience the joy and happiness that the world provides, especially through each other.

Beginning today, half of my family and friends will be upset. I recognize that part of my job is to help people work through their challenges, but this is different. Elections are a great blessing and we should always be praying for our elected officials, no matter who (or what) they are. So if half of my peeps are upset, maybe I can help if and when the opportunity allows. I can also include them in my prayers, recognizing that God loves them just as much as me.

Will you win? Will you lose? Flip a coin. George Washington may have won 100% of the popular vote, but even his quarter has a Tails.

See you this week at the Chapel!

God Bless, Brock

Pictures of the Week

A big THANK YOU to all our volunteers who came out last Tuesday to help do more brush cleanup!

And a big thank you for all who have helped with the Lord's Warehouse cleanup and organization.

The Lord's Warehouse had its lower drywall areas cut out and is ready for the next restoration step.

Many thanks to Robbie and Bob Mazurek and crew for picking up shelving and a table for the Lord's Warehouse storage project.

Volunteers cleared more brush and debris from the north side of the building.

The Pods are here to store what the Lord's Warehouse can salvage.

Lord's Warehouse getting drywall cut out.

More Lord's Warehouse

This Conch bike "blew in" from the storms to our parking lot. Anyone know who might be the owner?

Don't forget to thank those who have served in the armed forces for our country. They are always in our prayers.
