“Off and Running!”

The New Year has begun! Woohoo! I can’t wait to get it started so that I can get as far away from last year as possible. Thankfully, the Chapel has lots of ministry, social, and worship opportunities to get back into the groove this Season.

Our first “Social” of the year is this Sunday, January 12, following worship. Chef David will be whipping up some Brunch favorites to please our tummies and satisfy our need to spend some quality time together. The meal, of course, is free of charge. However, there is one rule: If anyone mentions any of the following words, “Storm, Hurricane, Helene, or Milton”, they must pay $5 for each offense. Donations are welcome for the lunch, but willing donations DO NOT provide leniency or permission to discuss storms, hurricanes, Helene, or Milton.

It’ll still cost you extra!

Of course, our Gather and Give Socials continue on Tuesday, January 21, from 5 to 7 pm. Gather and Give Socials are hosted monthly by the Charitable Outreach Committee, which gathers each month’s collections and invites the receiving organization to attend and meet Chapel people. This month we are collecting coats, jackets, and sweaters, adult sizes, new or gently used. We will provide these to Turning Points (homeless ministry), who will attend the Gather and Give party and take the Chapel’s collections with them when they depart.

And yes, Bible Study returns on Wednesday, January 22, at 10 am (in person) and 5:30 pm (in person and online). This twelve-week study on the Book of Acts is a powerful and engaging study that describes the building of God’s Church and the fascinating people that God uses to accomplish the challenging task. During the study, we will also review Paul’s three missionary journeys, which will be of particular interest to those in the Chapel family planning to join the Chapel’s trip to Greece and Turkey in October 2025. (“Highlights of St. Paul’s Footsteps: Oct 2-12, 2025,” contact the church office if you are interested.)

One last thing, and probably most importantly, worship each Sunday morning at 10 am is a no-miss opportunity to meet new friends, connect with old friends, and receive something special from God. Each week includes special, powerful music and an inspiring message of hope and joy. Is attending worship a requirement to participate in the Chapel’s other activities? Absolutely not! But we’d definitely love to see you because you are important!

We’re Off and Running but we’re not going to go anywhere without you! Come see us (in person or online) at the Chapel in January!

I hope to see you soon, in person or online, at the Chapel!

God Bless, Brock.

Purchase Your New Chair for the Sanctuary!

Our Sanctuary pews aren't going to make it! It costs much more to restore them than they are worth. If we did spend the money to fix them, (estimated at 75K or more), another flood would destroy them again! As a result, we are buying chairs!

We are halfway to our goal already!

Make your check payable for $85 per chair to the Longboat Island Chapel and indicate "chair purchase" in the memo line.

Rehearsals are every Sunday directly after worship (11:15 a.m.). Lend your voice to build a strong presence for the Chapel!
