“Here We Go Again”

Well, here we go again. Our LBK and surrounding communities are bracing for another storm. This time, the storm is aimed right at us. We are weak. We are vulnerable. We are also strangely calm, but that’s mostly because we are so tired. We also realize that we can’t do much of anything except hunker down and wait.

These challenges in life are more common than we think. Does it ever seem like the biggest challenges emerge when we are at our lowest or weakest point? It doesn’t always happen that way, but it sure seems like more often than not, challenges arrive in groups. That stinks.

However, it’s important to remember two things: God wants us to succeed and God also wants us to be able to enjoy this life. God isn’t trying to complicate matters or run us through a cheese cutter to see what we look like on the other side. God doesn’t play games with our lives and God doesn’t set us up to fail.

We can do this because God wants us to succeed. God has given us every tool possible to make it work. Oh, it doesn’t mean that we can sit on our hands and do nothing. No, God isn’t going to force-feed us when we don’t want to eat. However, God will spoon-feed us if we are willing participants. God gives us brilliant minds to figure things out. God also gives us choice, so that if we want to live a life of Faith, we can make that choice. God always wants us, so as long as we choose likewise, we will experience life in a very different manner than if we didn’t.

So yes, here we go again. Another storm and more anxiety, worry, and concern. Am I worried? Am I concerned? Sure, of course. This stuff is scary. But I’m choosing to give it to the LORD. If the LORD happens to be ready for me, then I’m absolutely ready for Him. However, I don’t think it’s my time yet. Nor do I think that it is your time. God has so much more joy and wonder to show us! I’ve been informed of one miracle earlier this week regarding a cat and I’ve seen another miracle regarding a dog. If God cares that much about cats and dogs, can you imagine how much more God cares about you and me?

Oh yeah, God is good. Pray for those in the storm’s path. Pray for the family members who will be worried about their loved ones and especially pray for those who are homebound, unhealthy, or really struggling. They will have the hardest times, and though some of us may feel helpless about not being able to help, you’ll have to trust me…Your prayers matter. Your prayers make a difference, especially during times of great concern.

Stay Safe. Pray. Give it to God.

God Bless, Brock.

Lord's Warehouse

Will be closed until further notice

due to the recent storms.

We will have an update soon!

EVERYTHING!

We are collecting everything regarding cleanup and rebuilding from the Hurricanes. We have people within the congregation who have lost everything. The upcoming storm will create even greater needs. Kitchen goods, food, toiletries, bedding, and towels are just a few of the things we KNOW are in need. Please stay tuned. Following this next storm, we will specify our needs and means of collection.

Hurricane Storm Damage Update

Hurricane Helene left her mark on the Chapel and Lord's Warehouse. Our dedicated and skilled volunteers are working hard to get back to full operations as soon as possible, but we are also relying on professional assistance in many places. Because we have been self-insured for a couple of years, we will be paying for the recovery efforts out of our own pockets.  As you are considering places to help, please put the Chapel at the top of your list. We can use your help in lots of places!
