“Make Plans”
In this sixth week of Lent, we are nearing the conclusion of the journey to Easter. If you have been participating in the Chapel’s Lenten devotions and challenges, thank you. We have already seen God at work in many ways, and there are still more moments ahead, including the most meaningful moments of the season.
Throughout Lent, we have been focusing on “Dream Again,” reminding ourselves that there is still purpose, hope, and meaning ahead of us. God continues to place new opportunities before us. When we remain attentive, we begin to recognize them.
Lent is a season of preparation for Easter. It spans a little more than six weeks and invites us to reflect on God’s work in the world and in our lives. It gives us space to notice God’s provision, even in the midst of challenge and difficulty.
Holy Week, the final week of Lent, begins next week with Palm Sunday on March 29. Even if we have not done anything intentional up to this point, this final stretch opens the door for all of us to turn our attention more fully toward God. Holy Week is unique because it focuses on the most difficult part of Jesus’ ministry: the time of His suffering.
Jesus’ suffering is not something to overlook. It reveals His obedience. He chose God’s path, even when it was difficult. His choice was not only for Himself, but for the sake of all people. Because of His choice, we are given the opportunity to choose the Lord and receive the promise of eternal life.
Get ready. Make plans. There is still time to engage this season in a meaningful way. There is still time to experience something new, something beautiful, and something unexpected.
We can dream again, not because of our own imagination, but because God is still at work, preparing good things for those who seek Him.
I’ll see you this Holy Week at the Chapel, online or in person! God Bless, Brock.
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. (Psalm 37:5, NLT)
God Bless, Brock.
