Chapel Rock Family Ministry Weekend Update for July 19, 2020

It's amazing to think about the great opportunities that we've had to serve and come together over the past month for CIY Move AT, CIY MIX At, and Mission Indy. I have loved seeing the growth, experiencing the personal challenge, and getting a front seat view of the fruit produced for the Kingdom by the servant hearts of our young people.

Even though things have had to look a little bit different this summer, we've certainly not stopped engaging with students in our community, serving our community, and creating opportunities for students to be strengthened and challenged in their walk with Jesus.

This week Chapel Rock will be a host for the second week of Mission Indy for several churches and youth groups that will come and make Chapel Rock their home base for joining the work of serving in our community. Please keep these groups in prayer; for health, and for an amazing week together as they serve here in Indianapolis. Mindy Turpen is, once again, heading up the amazing crew of people that will be extending some radical hospitality on behalf of Chapel Rock to those who will be serving. If you have some time this week and would like to be a part of the crew prepping meals, snacks, cleaning, serving, etc... contact Mindy at, or by phone at (317) 627-9266.

Thanks to all of our youth leaders, volunteers, and helpers who have helped to make all of the events that we've hosted over the past month happen. Nothing we do could possibly happen without your engagement, sacrifice, and leadership!

Hi Chapel Rock Kids!

We want to give you one last experience before school starts. We have set up an experience on the church grounds that you can do with your kids any time that works for your family, between Friday, July 17 through Tuesday, July 21.

There will be 2 sets of activities, one is intended for kids 2 years old - Kindergarten and the other is for kids in grades 1st - 5th grades. You can choose which one works for you or do them both.

Both activities start with a video to watch. We encourage you to bring a blanket and find a shady spot on the church property to watch the video on your phone or Ipad, or you could watch it in the comfort of your own home before you head to the church grounds. They will also both have a scavenger hunt along the north side of the building. The items to be found by the younger kids will be outlined in blue. The elementary-aged kids will find the items outlined in orange.

Afterwards, find a grassy spot on the church grounds to have a picnic or a snack. You might even invite friends to join you in the fun, while social distancing.

We hope you have a blast!

House Church Kit
Go beyond the screen by checking out our House Church kit available at This kit is designed exclusively to help you prepare to join us online for the Sunday morning service streamed at 9:00a and 11a on Sundays.

The House Church kit includes scripture readings related to the message of the week, along with discussion questions for you and your family to dig into together. It's a great way to make the most of the opportunities that we have to engage with one another in this season.

The discussion questions found in the House Church Kit that go along with each week's sermon are a great way for middle school and high school students that are normally in the rhythm of engaging in discussion groups at Merge/The Vine, to engage in a conversation about the sermon as a family.

The house church kit will be uploaded/updated on Saturday of each week for the following day's message/sermon.
