  • Sensory Friendly Day - Connecticut Science Center
    • Sunday January 27th, 2019 10 am - 5 pm
    • 250 Columbus Blvd, Hartford CT 06103
    • We are dimming the lights and lowering the volume for our friends with sensory disabilities and their guests. Activities include arts & crafts, a ton of fun activities and live science demonstrations without the usual loud sounds and bright lights.
    • Tickets are $14 online in advance or $16.95 at the door (1:1 aides are always free)
  • Sensory Saturdays - Imagine Nation 
    • Every 2nd Saturday of the month, Jan-June. 9 - 10 am
    • 1 Pleasant St, Bristol CT 06010
    • Multisensory interactive exhibits, which invite children to touch, discover and create, the museum is modified into a sensory friendly environment with lowered lighting and sound
    • Admission is free!
Super Bowl Potluck Party
Come one, come all and join us on
Sunday, Feb 3rd from 6:00 pm to END OF GAME!
Watch the game, play in the gym and eat lots of potluck style food!
This is a free event- ANYONE AND EVERYONE is invited and welcome to attend. Stop in or call to tell us what you might bring for the potluck.

New Faces at Chapter 126!
Katie Woodilla
Katie Woodilla is currently finishing up her undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at Ithaca College in upstate New York. Katie has been working with various clinical populations for the 2 years and loves helping others achieve their goals. In her free time, Katie is an avid theater performer, participates in Swing Dance and teaches classes such as HIIT, Butt and Gut and occasionally Zumba. She will be interning in the fitness center until the end of April, so please stop by and say hi!
Occupational Therapy Students
For the next couple months we will be hosting 4 occupational therapy assistant students from Goodwin College. Occupational therapy is a field similar to physical therapy however; OT focuses on improving a clients ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL) while PT focuses on improving a clients ability to perform movement of the human body. We would be happy to introduce you if you are interested in taking advantage of their services!

The Beam is Back!
We have received a generous donation from Paul Bosley and our friends at Business Finance Depot. Thanks to their donation we will be able to have access to the Beam for the next 2 years. This piece of equipment is a huge part of the programs we put on and we are very grateful to Paul and the Business Finance Depot team.

Oak Hill Smart Home
Oak Hill is so excited to announce the completion of the Oak Hill Smart Home. The Smart Home is a traveling fully accessible tiny house that showcases some the adaptive technology available today; including smart lights, thermostat, window shades, door lock, tv control, the new Alexa controlled Amazon Smart Microwave and much more! Keep an eye out for when the smart home will be visiting Chapter 126 and for other smart technology demonstrations through NEAT.

Right now, you are doing the best you can, and your best might change from day to day. Counter the criticisms with your successes, no matter how small. Chances are your victories aren't small.
