SOCIAL WORKERS LEADING FOR JUSTICE
Hello,

It is not news to us that the pandemic has exacerbated our mental health crisis. Many of you who provide mental health services and treatment have risen to the need - you've adapted to telehealth, your practices or case loads are full, you've taken on more shifts at the hospital.

There is great need for more clinicians, particularly clinicians of color, to enter private or group practice. We're here to support you in that transition to part-time or full-time private practice.

Just last week the House included another round of funding for Therapy Matcher, our therapy referral public service program, in the state budget. In FY21 we received $50,000 from the state which allowed us to dramatically lower the fee for clinicians to join Therapy Matcher to just $95 for the year. Join now to take advantage of this offer and start getting personalized referrals (that fit your schedule) right away.

In partnership with the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers, we are hosting a 3-part continuing education series in May/June meant to encourage and prepare clinicians of color to enter private practice, either part- or full-time. Learn more below or here.

This week our state budget work will continue as the focus shifts to the Senate. There, we will continue our fight for funding for Therapy Matcher, increased welfare cash grants for families with children, stable housing, and elder behavioral health, as well as language to close the "SNAP Gap."

In Solidarity,
Rebekah Gewirtz
Executive Director

Aligning Clinical Best Practices and Documentation with Managed Care Requirements for Improved Client Care
Earn 1.5 CEUs!
This is a presentation that can be used for both NEW and existing behavioral health providers to develop the skills and knowledge needed to not just provide excellent clinical care, but to ensure appropriate documentation that supports ethical billing and meets medical necessity criteria. Specific assessment, progress note, and treatment plan documentation skills and formats will be reviewed. Too often excellent clinicians documentation does not reflect the care given and can put the clinician or program at risk of services not being covered or reimbursed. Clear documentation that supports the charges submitted and the services provided ensure coverage in a managed care environment.
