A Message from the president:

This message marks my last as President of the AFP Nova Scotia Chapter, I move into my role as Past-President starting in January. It has been a true honor to serve as President over the last 18 months. It's been a time filled with many ups and downs. Throughout it all, I have been so impressed by the commitment of our board, Chapter, and sector to do things differently and to stand up and speak out when we know something is wrong.

Over and over again, our small Chapter continues to punch well above its weight in terms of our commitment to IDEA and to support change in our sector. We certainly are not perfect, and still have a long way to go, but I have appreciated everyone's commitment to doing this important work.

As I close out this note, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the AFP Nova Scotia Chapter executive team, and our board as a whole. AFP is work you each agree to do on top of your 'day job' and personal commitments. The passion and engagement you demonstrate time and time again is so inspiring. Thank you.

AFP Nova Scotia Chapter has lots of big plans for the New Year, so please stay tuned, I know you'll be in good hands with Alison Clements stepping up as President and steering the ship.

I wish you all a happy and restful holiday season. Thank you for all of your support these last 18 months.

Sincerely,

Whitney Maclean – President, AFP Nova Scotia
