March 2024

A Message from the president:

Spring is so close you can basically feel it!

Spring brings with it a sense of refresh, which I’m sure many of us fundraisers welcome as we come out

of the winter months.

Refresh is a theme we at AFP Nova Scotia are following as our amazing new Maritime Fundraising

Conference Co-Chairs, Shaylyn & Glenn, build their organizing committee for the event (dates to be

announced soon!). This fall, the 2024 theme: Building Better Practices. What does this mean? Stay tuned for exciting updates to come!

AFP ICON is now just weeks away! It is one of the premier conferences in the professional fundraising

sector, hosted this year in Toronto. If you have never been before, picture yourself celebrating and

learning about fundraising strategies with 5,000 fundraising colleagues! Sound overwhelming? It can be.

If you or one of your team members is going to ICON for the first time, please let me know. Sometimes a

friendly face during a coffee break or at the Red and White reception makes a difference.

So, spring forth, fabulous fundraisers. Let’s seize the season and strive for social good.

All the very best,

Alison Clements – President, AFP Nova Scotia
