The Mentorship Program offered through AFP Nova Scotia and CAGP Atlantic is designed to match a junior and seasoned fundraiser for one-on-one coaching and to learn more about the pragmatic side of fundraising. This complements the more formal professional development courses available like those offered at the Maritime Fundraising Conference. This provides an opportunity for the mentee to hone in on specific skill they wish to cultivate and allows the mentor to help advance the profession of fundraising in Nova Scotia.

As a community of inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA), the Association of Fundraising Professionals seeks, embraces, and engages diverse individuals, groups, and organizations with a broad representation of experiences, perspectives, thoughts and cultures within the fundraising profession. Through this strategic initiative, AFP is committed to activities that increase awareness of IDEA issues. As part of this commitment, AFP Global and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy have created a scholarship program to provide financial assistance for the professional development of fundraisers who are themselves members of one or more marginalized communities. We are excited to invite you to the inaugural CAGP Atlantic Chapter education session, Unlocking Donor Advised Funds, on October 24th from 12:30pm-2pm. We’ll explore the latest research and share strategies and best practices to help you tap into these assets, amplifying your impact and advancing your mission.

The session will be offered in-person and virtually and we welcome CAGP and AFP members, non-members, and guests!

Do you process information creatively? Then the Maritime Fundraising Conference wants to work with you! We are looking for a handful of “Idea Harvesters” who are interested in sharing their learnings from the conference through any creative medium, and allowing AFP to share it with other attendees. It could be a collection of doodles from a session you attended, a poem about your conference experience, a short video interview, a blog post . . .  the sky's the limit.
