Dear Fellow Fundraisers,
Did someone shift 2024 into high gear? It seems the year is trying to close out at lightening speed!
It was a pleasure to see many of your faces at the Maritimes Fundraising Conference, presented by Global Philanthropic Canada. There were even some new ones, showing the growth of the professional fundraising sector throughout the region.
While it was a power-packed day of learning (and unlearning), the consistent theme that stuck with me throughout this year’s conference was togetherness. It was the first time we returned to more of the traditional MFC format since pre-pandemic – we were all back in person, buzzing with energy, ideas and camaraderie. That feeling was missing over these last few, ever-changing years.
Togetherness. Inclusion. Welcoming. These words mean a lot to us here at AFP Nova Scotia. Not because they are found in our IDEA work or because they are “buzz words” right now. Our board and committee members have been working hard to make these words become part of what it means to be a member of AFPNS. How are we doing? Do you feel welcomed as a member at events or in the AFPNS community? Are we representing your community? Your background? Are we helping to remove barriers that you need tackled?
PLEASE let us know by filling out the AFP IDEA Pathway Survey. https://community.afpglobal.org/afpns/afpnsideamenu/ideasurvey
We need to hear from all AFPNS members and fundraisers in our region to ensure our programming and offerings are connecting with you and the local non-profit sector as a whole. Deadline to complete this survey is October 31st so take this as your reminder to do it now. Bonus: we are offering a chance to win a $100 gift card to everyone who completed the survey.
Here’s to a fabulous fall!
