Making a difference in schools. Together!

As the summer days begin to wane and the scent of freshly sharpened pencils fills the air, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to school to all our dedicated Chapter Leaders! We at the Foundation for Douglas County Schools are incredibly excited to embark on another academic year alongside you.

We recognize and deeply appreciate the tireless work you do, from organizing engaging events and fundraising for essential resources to volunteering countless hours and advocating for the needs of your schools, sports, and student organizations. As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, please know that the Foundation for Douglas County Schools stands ready to support you. We believe that a strong partnership between our foundation and your chapter is crucial for achieving our shared goals. We encourage you to reach out to us with your ideas, your challenges, and your successes. Let's explore ways we can collaborate to make an even greater impact on our students' lives.

Wishing you a successful, fulfilling, and joy-filled school year. May your events be well-attended, your fundraising goals be met, and your communities continue to flourish. ~ Ashley Sommers, Executive Director

Back to School Chapter Meeting

After thoughtful deliberation, we have chosen not to host a Back to School Chapter Meeting and Vendor Fair this year.

Given that many of you participated in the recent new treasurer training and there are no changes to our existing policies, we believe it is unnecessary to convene an additional meeting at this time.

Feel free to reach out to Kim Meigs, Chapter Accountant, with any questions or concerns.

New Wells Fargo Accounts

Your new Wells Fargo Deposit Only Accounts are up and running!

Thank you to everyone who made the effort this summer to collect their new deposit slips and endorsement stamps. If you haven't picked yours up yet, please contact Kim Meigs to arrange a convenient time to collect them.

Unclaimed Deposits

Please make sure that you are checking the Unclaimed Deposit spreadsheet to see if any belong to your chapter.

Updated Forms

We have a number of great resources available on our website! Be sure to check out the updated Vendor Guide, Chapter Policy Manual, and Booster Policy Manual.

Several of our forms have also been recently updated, so please visit foundationdcs.org under Chapter Resources to access the most current versions.

Working to support you!

Hi Kimberly and the entire Foundation Team,

I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for going above and beyond to support us! You juggle SO MUCH and I am very aware that your position is very rarely an easy one! Throughout working with you I’ve always appreciated your diligence to giving everyone involved the individual support they need to be successful, even when that support was requested in less than warm and fuzzy ways :)

Thank you so much for also working to make the pick-up process for the new deposit materials so smooth and accessible for all our PTO and Booster chapters. It’s clear how much time, thought, and heart you and the Foundation team are putting into supporting us—and providing the multiple locations and expansive timeframe - your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for helping us to better serve our schools, students, staff, and families. We’re so grateful for your continued partnership, dedication, and support!

Thank you again for all you do!

Warmly,

Allie Barnes, Cimarron PTO
