This Sunday, October 27, Rev. Prof. David Fergusson of Cambridge University will serve as our Selley Series speaker and preach at both services. David was installed as personal chaplain to the Queen in 2015 and in 2019 was appointed Dean of the Chapel Royal in Scotland and Dean of the Order of the Thistle. He took part in the memorial services for Queen Elizabeth II in 2022 and took part in the 2023 Coronation of King Charles. We will incorporate worship elements from our denomination’s very beginnings, enjoy a rousing bagpiper procession, and recognize SCAPC’s 50+ year members. | |

Flower Ministry
The Congregational Care Committee oversees the SCAPC's Flower Ministry, in which arrangements donated for the Sanctuary on Sundays are broken down into smaller arrangements on Monday mornings and delivered to those who could use a bright spot in their day. To join their team, please contact Gail Kaliszeski at gkaliszeski@cox.net.
THE COMMITTEE IS ALSO IN NEED OF SMALL VASES. If you have been the recipient of the Flower Ministry, or have small vases, please considering donating them by placing them in the box by the Chapel entrance on State Street.

Medicines Sought
Members will be traveling back to Cuba in February to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Juan G Hall Presbyterian Church as well as commune and serve with their mission church El Fuerte Presbyterian! One of the ways we continue our mission support to our friends in Cuba is to provide much-needed medicines for their community. Please consider donating unopened, non-expired pill form medication for the treatment of pain, cold/flu, and vitamins for good health. Unfortunately, no liquid or gummy options are permitted. The wicker basket in the vestibule of the Chapel entrance on State Street is designated for this collection. Thank you for your continued investment in the health of this cherished Cuban community!

Synod of the Sun Imagine Event
NOVEMBER 6-8
SCAPC is hosting the Synod-wide “Imagine Event” next month! The theme of the event is “Going to the Margins and Finding Life: exploring, listening, and learning from ministry partners and communities operating at the intersection of systemic poverty, structural racism, and congregational vitality.” There will be service projects with Okra Abbey, a prayer and justice tour of New Orleans, a panel discussion featuring many of our Community Ministry partners, and time for group discussion and reflection on these themes. To register, please click here. If you are interested in helping us host and volunteer for some or all of the events, please email Pastor Sarah.
