PTO Meeting this Wednesday 7pm in the school library. All are welcome!

PICTURE DAY FOR ALL STUDENTS!

Thursday, September 12th will be Student yearbook and homeroom photos. Please follow the school out of uniform guidelines.

Students may come out of uniform. If they have gym Thursday pictures will be taken prior to gym class. Please bring your gym clothes. Picture backgrounds will be blue and gray.

Picture Proofs will be available online two weeks after photos are taken.

GIRL SCOUT MEETING!

There will be an informational meeting about Girl Scouts on Tuesday, September 10th at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. This meeting is open to all girls and their caregivers who are interested in joining a Girl Scout troop at St. Charles. Our goal is to form at least one new kindergarten troop and place girls from other grades into existing troops. If you have any questions prior to the meeting, please email Melissa at girlscoutskettering@gmail.com.

STC CYO Basketball Now Open!

Registration for CYO Basketball is now open for 3rd to 8th graders at https://tshq.bluesombrero.com/stcharles.

The fees will be $100/player and practices start the week of October 14th. Games will start November 2nd, and the Playoff Tournament will start January 11th with Championship Games being played on January 18th.

Typically there will be 1-2 practices/week and 1-2 games/week. More information will follow in mid-September if an Evaluation Day is needed due to registration numbers.

Registration will close on September 17th.

We understand the registration deadline is earlier than in the past, but it is needed in order to find coaches and give CYO the information they need. If your child is trying out for another club team and you will not know prior to the registration deadline, please reach out to Pat McDowell via email so we are aware when forming teams. If we are aware of the situation, we will make sure everyone has a place to play.

Meet Eric Rustad

St. Charles Resource Officer!

Support his Dancing with the Stars in Dayton!

Eric Rustad received his Bachelor’s Degree in criminal studies from Kent State University in 1992. He began his law enforcement career in Pittsburgh, PA, where he worked for two years and was one of the first officers to receive his certification as a bike patrol officer.In 1995, he was hired by the Kettering Police Department and has served in many different capacities during his 29 year career.Eric’s duties have included bike patrol, defensive tactics instructor, firearms instructor, member of Kettering Regional S.W.A.T. team, evidence technician, field training officer, member of honor guard, and motor officer. He is currently assigned as a school resource officer for Archbishop Alter High School, St. Charles, St. Alberts, Ascension, Dayton Regional STEM School, and Montessori School of Dayton. This is Eric’s second assignment as a SRO during his tenure at Kettering

Vaccines for School

Per the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Department of Health, proof of required school vaccines (preschool through 8th grade) must be submitted to the school by the 15th day of each school year. This year, vaccines must be submitted by 9/11/2024. The groups that are typically in need of vaccines for school are:

New students
Tk or kindergarten students (updated "5 year" or "kindergarten" vaccines)
7th grade students (updated vaccines meningococcal and Tdap)

Most students have already received these vaccines, but the school must also have "proof' of those vaccines. If your child is missing proof of vaccines, the school nurse will reach out to you. Please make sure to respond as soon as possible. Proof of vaccine may be your child's vaccine record from the provider or the attached form (Section II) completed and signed by the provider.

FLIGHT ACADEMY VOLLEYBALL CLUB is focused on developing boys volleyball in the Dayton area. If your son has an interest in playing volleyball please come out on Sept 14-15 to see if club volleyball is an interest for you and your family. We would love to see your son on the court.

The cost is $25.
