Walk-a-thon Thank you
Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers that showed up to make our 2018 Ohana Walk-a-thon a success! Your time and dedication to Cherry Crest is what makes our school and community great. And a huge thank you to this year's Walk-a-thon Chairs Karin Olefsky and Tobi Kirsch . These two wonderful ladies spent many hours working to make this year's event a success. 

We want to extend a special thank you to our team members who worked behind the scenes in September to help make walkathon happen - Alan Schon , Roberto Linares , Tara Kenniwick , Ramya Veeramani , Christine Palidar , Alli Burton , Kat Schifano & Lola Leblanc

We also extend a HUGE Thank You to the PTSA Communications Team - Vatchala Renganathan, Amy Karlson, Namita Sheokand, Charanya Neelakanthan, Jaya Sugathan, Heather Sherman & Kat Schifano , for working tirelessly in getting information timely to all the families.

And Thank You to Dusty Steere , Brenda Naish , Susie Nakamura , Monique Maynor and all teachers for helping us to make the event a success.  Thank you all!
Walk-a-thon Donations Due Tomorrow
It's not too late! Your Walk-a-thon Donations can be submitted until October 10th. We are getting closer to our goal. As a reminder, your minimum $150 suggested donation goes directly to your child's Curriculum Enhancement activities, such as Field Trips, Author/Vendor/Educational Specialist visits, and more.

We still need yearbook photographers for some classrooms. Hence, this is a friendly reminder to all the interested parent volunteers to sign up by October 12th.

All School Ice Skating Party This Friday
Cherry Crest PTSA is hosting a private all school Ice Skating Party at Sno-King Ice Arena in Kirkland! A parent/guardian must be present for your child(ren) to attend. Parents are expected to look after their children. Snacks will be provided in a party room where everyone can warm up and refresh.
Who : All Grades, siblings, and parents
When : Friday, October 12th from 9:15 A.M. to 11:15 A.M.
Where : Sno-King (aka Kingsgate Ice Arena) 14326 124th Ave NE, Kirkland
Cost: $5.00 at the door (cash, MC or VISA) per skater

Math Challenge Packet-2 Due October 16
Math Challenge program is a free math enrichment program for elementary students consisting of series of challenging and interesting math problems. All students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in this program. To participate please click  here.

As we smell Autumn dancing in the breeze, sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp burnt leaves, it’s time for our Spooktacular fun and games night at Cherry Crest!
There will be many surprises! Bring your whole family to have a blast with spooky fun.

Join the 2019 Auction Team
2019 Auction is on Saturday March 30th. This will be our 3rd and last fundraiser of the school year. We’re forming the team and start some of the work now. If you want to be part of a super motivated team of parents, or simply want to learn more about the event, join us.

After School Activities
Registrations for Ski-bus Due November 20
Students in grades 2nd-5th are welcome to join the Wednesday after school ski busoffered by Snow Sports Consulting Services (SSCS). The program starts Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Summit Central Ski Area and continues for six consecutive weeks finishing on February 13, unless weather forces postponement. 

The bus loads at school at 12:30 PM and returns at approximately 5:30 PM in the evening. Classes begin at 2:00 PM and are 2 1/2 hours long.

Registrations are due by mail by Tuesday, November 20, 2018.

Robotics Club starts today
Prepare for blast off, break out of your earthly constraints and go INTO ORBIT SM .
Teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. The Cherry Crest Robotics Club will provide your team with one Robotics Set, and coaching. The Club will meet every Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM  for all the weeks school is in session until March 2019.
Please attend the parent meeting to find out more details and registration. This will also be our first Club meeting for the students. (Parent meeting at the same time).

Get Ready to Party for a Cause at Spark!
Please join us on October 19th to support the Bellevue Schools Foundation at Spark! - an intimate festival of lights, inspired by the Indian celebration, Diwali.

The evening will include heavy appetizers catered by Saffron Grill, drinks, entertainment and a silent and live auction – lots of fun. You can register  here  and of course, please spread the word!

Youth Cheer Camp
The Sammamish High School Cheerleaders are hosting a Youth Cheer Camp for K-5 students on Friday October 12 , 8:30 AM - 12 Noon  at the Sammamish High School Main Gymnasium. They will learn fundamentals of cheer as well as a fun dance routine. Campers are invited to perform during halftime at the varsity football game on Friday, October 19th!
Cost is $50 per participant and includes game admission for the child and a Totem JR Cheer custom T-shirt. Please bring a water bottle and snack.

Bridle Trails Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Join the Bridle Trails Park Foundation for a FREE Halloween scavenger hunt. Wear your costume and come ready to hike the mile-long Raven Trail. Enjoy games, beverages and prizes as you search for hiddenobjects. Rain or shine.
