Welcome to the Charger Chatter Newsletter!
Welcome to the first edition of the Charger Chatter newsletter! The Cherry Crest PTSA "Charger Chatter" newsletter is produced most Tuesdays during the school year.

Look to the Chatter for news about PTSA-sponsored activities for students such as Curriculum Enhancement and for announcements of school events such as the Walkathon, Family Nights and PTSA Fundraisers.

You can also find links to Bellevue School District information, news from our librarian, nurse and school principal, as well as information about after-school enrichment opportunities, athletic activities and community activities for families and children.
PTSA Presidents Welcome Back to School
On behalf of the Cherry Crest PTSA, we would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year!

Your Cherry Crest Parent-Teacher-Student-Association (PTSA) is looking forward to another year of working with you and our wonderful teachers and staff at Cherry Crest to give our students the best possible school year experience.

Through fundraising and volunteering, our PTSA is very fortunate to provide Cherry Crest students with curriculum enhancement activities (field trips, visiting authors, science workshops), family events (Fall Festival, Spelling Bee, Movie Night, Variety Show, Festival of Cultures, and more) and classroom Instructional Aides at every grade level.

Our first all school community event, the Walkathon, is just around the corner on Friday, October 4th. This fundraiser provides the operational funds for our PTSA programs for the year and is a FUN event for the whole family. Be on the lookout for more information about the Walkathon coming home soon.

Also, be sure to attend our PTSA General Membership meeting on Tuesday, September 17th at 6:30pm. Coffee and treats will be provided. Come meet your PTSA Board of Directors, re-approve the 2019-20 budget and start planning for an awesome school year. If you haven't already, visit our PTSA site to join or renew your PTSA membership.

Please meet us during the first day of school coffee on September 4th , we will be wearing red "Cherry Crest comm(UNITY)" shirt and also during the Kindergarten Welcome Coffee Monday, September 9th at drop-off. We would love to meet and talk to you.

Avoid the Traffic: Bus or Walk to School!
With just one entrance and exit to our school, pickup and drop off at Cherry Crest can be frustrating. As such, we strongly encourage eligible students to utilize BSD transportation . Note that students who live near the walk boundary may " walk to designated stops and ride buses on space available basis."

If you choose to drop off or pick up your child from school, please review and follow the Cherry Crest Pick Up and Drop Off procedures.
Check/Update District Contact Information
At the start of the school year, the PTSA distributes a printed directory to all families. Check your district contact information and confirm that it is correct for you and your student(s). Visit  ParentVue then:
 
Select "My account" at the top and review/update email, address and parent name information.

Review the "Student Info" section  for each student . If "Exclude from directory" is "N", your student and family information  will appear  in the directory. Otherwise, your student's name  may  appear if we can confirm their presence with their teacher, but no family or address information will be printed.

To update any information select the  "Online Student Verification Tab"  at the top of the page.
