Auction Spotlight: Invitations Going Home, Dessert Donations, Sponsorship
The show must go on! That is, of course, until there is BSD guidance that it can or should not... But at this early juncture, we are sticking to schedule and have a few important announcements:

  • The big news this week is that invitations argoinhome! Please check your child's backpack this week and look for a gold envelope!
  • Second, this year we are mixing things up by introducing a deliciously suspenseful Dessert Dash game where tables will compete for the right to select the best looking dessert on display! To help us fill out our lineup, we are seeking donations of desserts or gift cards: check out our signup which lists the bakeries that we would love to have participate in our event, or email
  • Finally, we are still actively seeking and accepting sponsorship for the event. Contact:
  • Have other questions? Visit our auction website or past news articles!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Breaking News: PTSA School Activities on Hold
Hello Cherry Crest Community,

In compliance with the guidelines of BSD community building use, we are canceling all PTSA school events planned in March. We are working with our committee chairs and the school to get these important and fun community events rescheduled as soon as possible.

The following events have been canceled:

  • Curriculum Enhancement (CE) events (both at-school and field trips) scheduled for the week of March 9-13 will be rescheduled for a later date.
  • March 10 - General Meeting (New date pending)
  • March 25 - Festival of Cultures (New date pending)
  • March 27 - Movie Night & Auction Art Walk (New date pending)
  • Recess Running Club paused until further notice
We are taking a wait and see approach on rescheduling the following events:

  • For CE events after March 13, we are working to assess later events scheduled in March. Please monitor your emails for any communications from your grade-level CE rep and/or teacher.
  • April 3 - Time Capsule Opening Ceremony
  • April 25 - 50th Anniversary Cherry Crest Annual Auction. Invitations are planned to be sent out this week, but please be aware that the plan for the auction may change.
Thank you all for your patience during this difficult process. We hope you all stay safe and healthy!

School News
Time to Check the Lost and Found
The Lost and Found is overflowing with jackets, lunchboxes, water bottle and other items. Please check the rack located beside the art room on the first floor.
Continued Construction on the Water Pipeline Near School
We have been notified that there will be continued construction on the main water pipeline on the following dates:

  • March 10 - 12: at 126th Ave NE and NE 30th St.
  • March 17 - 18: at 126th Ave NE and NE 29th St.

Avoid traffic and flaggers by sending your kids on the school bus if possible! If you must drive, proceed slowly and safely in the neighborhood, watching for families walking to school, as well as flaggers and construction workers.

Drivers should continue to use the school's traffic plan: Take 130th Ave to 32nd St. to approach the school. When existing, continue straight on 124th Ave. Watch for flaggers and detour markings!
District Notices
Make Your Voices Heard - Complete Surveys by March 24th
The Bellevue School District is conducting a survey on family engagement in order to strengthen relationships between schools and families. Creating meaningful partnerships with parents helps students succeed both academically and socially. When families engage, student attitudes and behavior are more positive, attendance is better, there are more opportunities to honor diverse cultural backgrounds, and open communication allows us to learn from each other.

Families will have received an email with a unique survey link from the survey platform (Panorama Education). The survey is only five questions and available in multiple languages. Please complete the survey by Tuesday, March 24th.

Survey results will be shared with all families in a State of BSD Family Engagement Report before the end of the school year. School administrators will receive results for their individual schools and, as a next step, will work alongside parents to create family engagement practices for school improvement plans for the 2020-2021 academic year.
