CHARGER STAMPEDE
"Victory or defeat is not determined at the moment of crisis, but rather in the long and unspectacular period of preparation."
Winter Sports-  Current Fan Policies

The Great Hearts Middle School League will allow 2 family members per athlete to attend our MS Soccer games. Please help us adhere to this policy, wear masks, and distance from others at games so that we can continue to at least have two family members present.

The AIA (HS Events) will now allow 2 PARENTS/GUARDIANS of each athlete to attend HOME GAMES. For away games, our parents and fans will not be allowed in. With us not providing transportation for contests in the valley, we understand the stress this puts on our families. We thank you in advance for carpooling, sacrificing, and helping our kids have a season!

We are hoping to stream most or all of our HS events, and hopefully many other schools will as well. Those links will be provided via our athletics website (areteprepchargers.com) and social media (@areteprepchargers) as they are given to us.

These policy is fluid, and can change based on county and local metrics. Please stay tuned for updates, and thank you for your patience.

Winter Sports- GH Arizona Statement

Dear Winter Sport Families,
I hope that this holiday season afforded you some well-deserved rest and that your second semester is off to a good start. I am reaching out to update you on the status of the winter sports season.

We have received word that the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA), the High School Athletics Association that Great Hearts competes in, has decided to cancel all winter sports due to the current status of COVID-19. We are deeply saddened by this news as athletics is a key part of each student's scholastic experience. While we recognize that the competitive season is no longer viable, we believe that it is still vital to provide a safe environment for our student athletes to continue practicing and competing. We remain committed to providing an athletic experience for our students while maintaining the same safety measures that we have been following all school year. This means that all Great Hearts middle school and high school sports teams will continue to be in operation.

For our Great Hearts Middle School League, all sports will continue to function as is with all safety and social distancing practices in place. If you need more information regarding practice or game schedules, please contact your athletic director or reach out to your student's coach directly.

For our high school athletes, our athletics team is hard at work putting together a plan to create a league for this season so that our students can keep practicing and compete against other athletes from across the Great Hearts network and the Phoenix Metro area. As these details are finalized, your Athletic Director will be updating you.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through this school year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Rickey
Director of Athletics
Great Hearts Arizona

CarLife Charger of the Week:
Caleb Richards- Senior- Varsity Soccer

Caleb has led our soccer team through a rocky start to our winter '20-21 season. With the season pushed  back, stopped, and then started again, Caleb has been instrumental in organizing and leading practices, including 2 a days and futsal. As one of two seniors, and a captain, he sets an example with outstanding work ethic, leading with both words and actions.
