MS Basketball Tryouts Begin Tonight

With large numbers signed up for boys MS basketball, we have had to make one more adjustment to MS tryouts. This will allow for a more effective tryout and fair evaluation of players. Thanks for your patience with the schedule and changes.

Tryout details:
Monday (President's Day- No School) 2/20
All girls in grades 5-8, 3:45-5:15pm
Boys in Grades 5/6 5:15-6:45pm

Tuesday 2/21
Boys in grades 7/8 3:30-5:00pm
Boys in grades 5/6 5:00-6:30pm
All girls in grades 5-8 6:30-8:00pm

Team practices will then begin Wednesday 2/22. There will be no practices on Thursday 2/23 as we host Winter Sports Awards. The practice schedule will be further developed as we have an understanding of how many players will participate, and how many teams will be formed.

With positive attitude and effort, our goal is to place each player who comes out, on an age and skill developmentally appropriate team. Our teams compete in the Great Hearts Middle School League at the A, B, and C levels. The game schedule is developed by the league once the number of teams are submitted, after school's host tryouts and form teams. Thank you for your patience with the schedule.

Please make sure you have a completed sports physical and all registration requirements complete. Send questions to Coach Conklin (tconklin@areteprepacademy.org)

Support Arete Athletics With Your AZ Public School Tax Credit!
Did you know the Tax Credit Drive at Arete Prep is vital to funding your child’s athletics programs?
If you currently pay income tax in the State of Arizona, you have a choice in how those dollars are spent!

If you give your Arizona Public School Tax Credit to Arete Prep, you receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your state income tax bill. Married filers can give up to $400 per year, and single filers up to $200 per year.

Your support in keeping Arete athletics funded is needed and greatly appreciated.
You have the power to put a portion of YOUR state income tax dollars directly back into your child’s athletic activities, and because Tax Credit contributions make up most of our Athletics budget, the more we receive, the more programs we can offer.

I also invite you to please encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to make their public school tax credit donation to our school in support of your athlete and our programs.

Please reach out to me or to our Family Giving and Community Engagement Officer, June Brockmeyer, with any questions about our athletic program funding.

Lastly, if you have already given your tax credit to Arete this year, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
