CHARGER STAMPEDE
"Perform at your best, when your best is required."
Varsity Track and Field Wins Phoenix Christian Invite

At the Phoenix Christian Invitational Arete Prep went up against DII, DIII, and DIV schools.

The boys team came up with some big performances throughout the day and came away as team champions by scoring 135 points! This is only the 2nd time the boys team has won a Invitational in the Mesa Prep/Arete Prep track and field history. Helaman Forsyth came away with 1st place finishes in both the 800m and 3200m, along with a 2nd place finish in the 1600m. He also finished off the meet with an incredible photo finish win, in the 4x400m relay, by out leaning the runner from Thatcher at the finish line. Other great performances were Chris Akpede 2nd in the 100m and 400m, Jason Rozas 2nd in the 800m and 3200m, and Aiden Wander 2nd in the 110m hurdles.

Arete features a very young team on the girls side, but they really stepped up their game and came away with a well earned 3rd place finish overall. The Chargers had tremendous performances from Alissa Kassebaum 1st in both the 800m and 1600m, Emily Lynch was1st in the 400m, Lillie Whitehead 2nd in the discus, Sara Tollen and Rachel Garver worked together to earn points in both the 1600m and 3200m, a 2nd place finish by our 4x400m relay team, and a 3rd place from our mostly Freshman group of runners in the 4x100m relay. The girls team definitely showed how tough they are and what is to come in the future.

Congratulations on a great team win and for bringing home a trophy!

Arete also ran at the Buckeye Invite over this past weekend. Full results from that meet can be viewed here:

Volunteer With Mikey's League- Unified Flag Football

THANK YOU to a few of our high school students who came out and helped at our first session this past Saturday!

Arete Prep Athletics are proud to announce a partnership with Mikey’s League, a local unified sports community organization. A little bit about Mikey’s League…

Mission: Mikey’s League was founded with a powerful objective: to challenge the limits placed on children with disabilities and allow them to inspire and teach us. We believe in the power of sport, and its moments of triumph, to unify, heal, and provide the confidence needed to be successful in life, regardless of challenges.

Vision: To allow all kids to play, regardless of ability. Through adapted, unified sport create an opportunity to experience triumph and success in a way that they will remember forever.
Use the following links and videos to learn more about Mikey’s League!

Spring Football:
We are excited to announce Mikey’s League will be running an 8-week season of flag football, Saturday mornings, starting April 3rd from 9am-noon. We will be playing at Arete Preparatory Academy in Gilbert (Greenfield and Baseline). Come enjoy the outdoors with us and our friends before it gets too hot for the summer. We will be focusing on developing fundamental football skills and what it means to be a part of a team.
We will be running two divisions, one for kids around ages 10-14, and one for ages 15+.

How can the Arete Community get involved:
We are seeking volunteers to help play with, coach, and support Mikey’s League athletes. Use the following link to sign up to volunteer on one or more of our league dates. Help build community, relationships, and earn volunteer hours with us. No football experience is necessary, and we will accept volunteers of all ages. You can sign up for one week, two, all eight, or whatever works for you!

Athletic Training Update- Spring 2021
ATI physical therapy continues to help protect Arete Prep athletes and our community. ATI has many valley locations, including a few just miles from our campus. Our head Athletic Trainer Greg Keuter (MS, ATC, PES) will be on campus for diagnosis, evaluation, and clinical hours Mondays from 3:30pm-5:30pm.

*Our athletic training room does not have most modalities needed for proper treatment and rehab of injuries. Many athletes will be referred to an ATI clinic when applicable. On campus hours are generally for initial evaluation, guidance, and basic treatments. On campus hours are covered by Arete, but appointments at clinics are not.

Check out the article below, about how physical therapy can help high school athletes and prevent sports injuries!

CarLife Charger of the Week:
Helaman Forsyth- Senior- Varsity Track and Field

As updates occur, calendars can be found on our main athletics page.(areteprepchargers.com) under the "MORE" tab.
 Sideline Store Remains Open 24/7/365!
Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
