Summer Camps 2021- Registration Is Live!
Arete Prep Athletics summer camp registration is now live! Enrollment will be capped for most camps, so don't hesitate to register. There are two parts to registration:
- Register your child in our athletics database. This will ensure we have all contact and emergency information.
***Filter 2021-22 for summer camp registration***
*A sports physical is not required for summer camps. But, if you intend to play sports at Arete next year, it may be a good idea to get it done for the year, now. A sports physical is good for one year from the date of completion.
2. Payment for camps: It is preferred camps are paid for using the Configio Arete Prep payment portal:
Payment can also be made via cash or check, just please contact Coach Conklin to complete payment in that way. A camp T-Shirt is included with registration (1 per camper, not per camp)

MS Track and Field- Championship Results
Stay tuned for our next Stampede where we will highlight MS and HS Track and Field accomplishments. The HS State Meet takes place Thursday and Friday and Perry HS.

Spring Football Begins 5/12
Arete Prep Spring Football is coming up! The Chargers will be working out at the Arete field starting Wednesday, May 12th through Friday, May 21st.
Players will need to wear shorts, a shirt, and cleats. These are non-contact workouts. There is no cost for spring football. Come on out and invite your friends and classmates.
A calendar for spring and summer football workouts will be provided in the near future. Please contact Coach Smith with any spring football questions.

Arete Prep Middle School Flag Football’s 1st Annual “Green and White” combine and game.
When: Thursday 5/20 3:45-5:45pm
Where: Arete Prep Field
Who: students (coed) entering grades 5/6 for the ’21-22 school year
Cost: Free! ($5 donation for pizza and Gatorade per person at the end)
Come out and meet our MS Flag Football coaches and fellow parents at our 1st annual spring game. Players will take part in a few combine style drills and finish with a scrimmage game. Our MS A team were Great Hearts Middle School Champions this past fall! As we look to continue to grow our program, players of all experience levels are welcome to come see what our flag football program is all about. Volunteer With Mikey's League- Unified Flag Football
Mikey's League Unified Flag Football continues on Saturdays from 9-Noon at the Arete field.

Mission: Mikey’s League was founded with a powerful objective: to challenge the limits placed on children with disabilities and allow them to inspire and teach us. We believe in the power of sport, and its moments of triumph, to unify, heal, and provide the confidence needed to be successful in life, regardless of challenges.
Vision: To allow all kids to play, regardless of ability. Through adapted, unified sport create an opportunity to experience triumph and success in a way that they will remember forever.

We are excited to announce Mikey’s League will be running an 8-week season of flag football, Saturday mornings, starting April 3rd from 9am-noon. We will be playing at Arete Preparatory Academy in Gilbert (Greenfield and Baseline). Come enjoy the outdoors with us and our friends before it gets too hot for the summer. We will be focusing on developing fundamental football skills and what it means to be a part of a team.
We will be running two divisions, one for kids around ages 10-14, and one for ages 15+.
How can the Arete Community get involved:
We are seeking volunteers to help play with, coach, and support Mikey’s League athletes. Use the following link to sign up to volunteer on one or more of our league dates. Help build community, relationships, and earn volunteer hours with us. No football experience is necessary, and we will accept volunteers of all ages. You can sign up for one week, two, all eight, or whatever works for you!

CarLife Charger of the Week:
After an outstanding week for Arete Athletics, we have an unprecedented 3 Chargers of the Week!
Michael Harambasic- 8th- Track and Field
Michael earned two GHMSL championships Saturday, winning both the 100 and 200 sprint events. He finished the prelims ranked first in each event and carried that momentum to the top of podium in both races. His 100 finals time was 12.1 (12.24 prelim) and his 200 finals time was 24.97 (24.87 prelim). Michael also brought home a bronze as part of the 4x400 relay team.
Chloe Stoops- Senior- Track and Field
Chloe threw a school record 89-5 in the javelin and placed 8th at the AIA State Championships. She had to throw a school record just to make the finals and broke it again in the finals to place 8th.
Matthew McClelland- Junior- Varsity Golf
Matthew scored a 41 in his 12th and final golf match of the season vs ACP & Phx Country Day. This score earned him a spot in the TOP 15 HS individual golfers in AZ. This clutch round qualifies him to play in the AIA State Championships at Tucson National GC May 10th-11th. Matthew continued the streak of four years in a row where the Arete Prep golf team or one individual qualified for state

2. Every athlete must submit a physical on the approved AIA Physical Forms. Physicals are good for 12 months and must be resubmitted annually.
3. Submit the athletic fee. All middle school sports (including archery) are $260. All high school sports are $300. Select Online Payment to pay by debit/credit card online, or you may submit cash, check, or money to the front office.
4. (HS ONLY) If not previously completed, every high school athlete must complete the Brainbook Concussion Course. The AIA will notify Arete electronically once the student has successfully completed the course. High school athletes are required to complete this course only once during their high school career.
All items must be completed and turned in before your student may participate in their sport.
