Our most recent summer days have given us opportunities for gathering together in relaxed protocol activities. We could enjoy celebrating our 2021 Jubilarians in person in August as well as joining S. Andrea Koverman as she professed her final vows. One year ago these joyous occasions could not occur because of the 2020 pandemic. Now we find ourselves being concerned about the start of in-person school, the rise of the delta variant and the dangerous wildfires spreading in our Western states.
St. Hildegard of Bingen, whose feast we celebrate soon, said: “You are embraced by the arms of the mystery of God.” Our own founder, St. Elizabeth Seton, whose birthday we just celebrated, shared: “Contemplate how you are being asked to give your heart to God, amidst your everyday activities.” Following the wisdom of these two saints we can move into the coming days of fall knowing we are embraced by God and that God’s love provides us with every grace and blessing we need. In your coming to day-to-day activities take God with you. Know that the Sisters of Charity will be remembering you in prayer as you live your lives more intentionally. Enjoy reading here where some of our everyday activities have taken us.

Grateful for God’s call and ever-abiding love, I respond with my whole heart.”

She continued, “I devote myself to embodying God’s compassion and concern for all, especially for those most in need, and to continuing the transformative mission of Jesus to bring about God’s Kingdom of inclusive love. I freely promise to practice community, animated by Christ’s love and life.”
