Charity..

At this time of year, we hear and see a lot about charitable giving. And it makes sense. The weather turns cold and if we are lucky enough to have the means to have a great (and warm) holiday season, it awakens us to the fact that others may not...and we often want to help.

But remember, charity should not be exclusive to just the holiday time of year, it should it be all year. Why not pick something different each month and give that cause some support? Perhaps in November you volunteered at a food pantry or gave a toy to TOYS FOR TOTS? If so, GREAT! Now, let's keep it going! If you are looking for suggestions for the months of December, January, and February, I have some ideas for you. Three of my dearest friends, Ilanna, Deb, and Lauren have some charitable events going on in those months that deserve your support. Check it out....

DECEMBER 24

Very few people have as much Christmas spirit in their heart as Ilanna Ball has. She has been coordinating a very special Christmas Eve event in Woonsocket RI for 6 years running. Last year they fed over 225 people! It is a night of fun activities along with the meals and of course: pictures with Santa! They will also be collecting new toys that night for disadvantaged teens this year. If this doesn't get you into the Christmas spirit, nothing will!

JANUARY 26

Deb Burton is the force behind RI ELDER INFO, the nonprofit that not only gives you information but supports both the elderly and those who care for them. Your donations are always helpful but if you want to have a blast while also donating, FUNNY4FUNDS is helping Deb run an event called LAUGHTER IS AGELESS in Warwick RI on January 26th. Come on out and enjoy some great local comedy while giving to an incredible cause.

FEBRUARY 10

Lauren Fagnant has been a promoter and supporter of the annual Mardi Gras Party in Woonsocket RI for many years. All the proceeds from the event go directly to the Northern RI Council of the Arts whose mission is to upgrade community life by means of the arts. The arts bring people together like nothing else can. And the world needs a lot more togetherness right now! You can buy raffle tickets or event tickets to support Lauren's efforts to help the NRI Council of the Arts.

P.S. DO YOU LOVE TO NETWORK???? If you have the time and really want to maximize one day of pure networking, then December 13th was built just for you! We occasionally see networking events conflicting with one another but not on December 13th. The stars aligned for a perfect day of networking. You start off at 8:30am at Plant City in Providence RI and network with the HEART OF RI networking group; from there you head south to North Kingstown RI to attend the special visitors day version of the TRUST B2B networking group at noon with Michelle and Sal; maybe grab some lunch or a coffee in south county before heading back to Providence RI for the first SPROUT COWORKING weekly business social at 4pm; and after that head to East Greenwich RI for the RI RECOMMENDS networking holiday party at 6:30pm. Wow! Talk about a full day of great networking!

The Heart of Rhode Island Networking & Referral Group was founded in March 2022 by Deb Honor and Natalie Delmage. It is an event that continually evolves and grows in size! It is a free event to the public...but we count on our attendees to take turns sponsoring the event each month to provide breakfast treats and coffee for the attendees. Plant City-Providence continues to be a wonderful partner for this event and we are so grateful to their team AND to Kim Anderson for providing the space! As this is our 6th year, we offer course appreciate everyone’s support.
