Only last year, we asked you to execute a fastbreak and score extra funds for the Charles Bruce Foundation by directing donations through the Partnership for Better Health's Match Madness campaign. You came through with a slam-dunk, donating a total of $1,740. We may not yet know the bubble teams that the NCAA selection committee will grace with a trip to this year's NCAA tournament, but we do know that the Charles Bruce Foundation is heading back to the Match Madness bracket of 45. To join in this year's action, you can simply use the Match Donation button coming in a special announcement on March 1. If you prefer to donate by check, you should make it payable to the Partnership for Better Health, listing The Charles Bruce Foundation in the check’s memo line and mail it to:

The Charles Bruce Foundation is known for sponsoring art throughout Carlisle, like the Nevin Lehman mural on the back of the Carlisle Antique Mall. Now, Ivy Rose and Bonnie Tweedy Shaw have finished an indoor mural at the B&L Caribbean restaurant. The painting features an island setting complete with tropical plants, insects, and birds. The picture to the right shows artist, Bonnie Tweedy-Shaw, owner Bryan Landers, and mayor Sean Shultz posing in front of the completed mural. The Sentinel newspaper did a feature story in the February 21st issue that you can access by clicking the button below.

Web design was never Charles Bruce Foundation board member Max Goller's life work but with the help of Maxwell Donnelly, another website has been launched in support of the foundation. This time, it is for the Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project. An outgrowth of last year's Carlisle Homeless Memorial Blanket Project that displayed over 200 blankets covering a 3200 square foot area in the foreground of First Lutheran Church in Carlisle on December 21, 2021, this year's project plans for more than 500 blankets to cover 9,000 square feet of the United States Capitol lawn on December 21, 2022. Through the new website, you can sign up to donate, create, and network with people from all 50 states and US territories as they unite to reach this daunting goal. The website will launch in the early weeks of March, and you will be able to use the link below to volunteer and receive updates.

Oh, and you read that right...the Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project 2022 has the goal of 500 blankets to cover 9,000 square feet of the United States Capitol lawn on December 21, 2022. More importantly, The Charles Bruce Foundation has been granted permission by both the Capitol Police and Capitol Architect to display this huge blanket. Each state is being asked to make 100 blankets, providing 10 for the DC display blanket, and then donating another 90 to local outreach programs in their area.
