Match Madness - There's Still Time!
If you've got $5, $25, or more, it's not too late to help us keep our year-round programming going. Although we do not have the final numbers for your Match Madness giving, we can already celebrate beating last year's giving numbers. We truly appreciate your patience with the increased emails this month about the campaign and for stepping up to the line and helping us sink the shots. As Amanda Palmer reminds us in her book, The Art of Asking, "Asking for help with shame says: You have the power over me. Asking with condescension says: I have the power over you. But asking for help with gratitude says: We have the power to help each other." We cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are that you are helping to promote art and the people who work so hard to bring it to us.

If you haven't already taken the time to give, please visit the Match Madness link below before the end of the day on Thursday, March 31, and select Charles Bruce Foundation from the dropdown list. This ensures that your contributions through the Partnership for Better Health will be increased exponentially, making your giving even more beneficial to the organization.
Musicians Without Borders
"Put your tongue in the middle and then play on both sides of your tongue. It sounds like an accordion." This sage advice was given by Chad Bruce to Fausta Mtweve's class in Tanzania. A friend of Sister Fausta, the principal at St. Gertrude Pre Primary School in Kilimahewa, sent her 50 harmonicas for her kids to learn to play. She got a couple of volunteers from Germany to teach these students who had never before seen a harmonica, but it was decided that a mini-lesson by professional harmonica player and Charles Bruce Foundation Founder, Chad Bruce, would prime the pump. Supporting the foundation mission of promoting music, Chad conducted harmonica lessons via Zoom with the eager learners (pictured to the right). Sad News of an Elder Orphan
Charles Bruce Foundation Board Member, Pat LaMarche, has expended a lot of effort recently to provide relief to an elder experiencing homelessness. Tragically, G, her preferred moniker to her real name, was recently given a diagnosis of metastasized cancer. Although this is a departure from the kind of news we normally share in The Charles Bruce Foundation newsletter, there is a strong connection to the work being done for persons experiencing homelessness through programs like the Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project. It is highly recommended that you take a look at Pat's article on this difficult subject using the link below. Also, visit and volunteer to help with the blanket project by using the link below that to visit its website.

Upcoming Events
*1:00-2:00 pm, Apr. 4 - Viewpoint with Seeta and Friends via WWBC welcomes Pat LaMarche to speak about persons experiencing homelessness (https://www.seetamediainc.com/)
*The month of April - Carlisle High School SHINES students begin work on a new town mural
