The Arkansas Charter Authorizing Panel met for its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on December 19th, 2023. The panel works to oversee the "authorization, renewal, revision, and revocation of charters."
In this month's meeting, the panel considered and acted upon the agenda items detailed below.

III.1. Warren Middle School rescinded the charter in September of 2023. All associated waivers were rescinded at that time.
- The panel accepted the rescission.
III.2. 2024 Proposed Charter Authorizing Panel Meeting Dates
- The panel approved the proposed meeting dates. A full list of the 2024 meeting dates can be found here.
III.3. Consideration of District Conversion Public Charter School Application-Mountainburg High School
- The panel approved the Mountainburg Public School District application to convert Mountainburg High School. The school will serve Grades 9-12 with a Career and Technical Focus. At the November 14th meeting, the applicant was asked to return and provide additional information.
III.4. Consideration of Haas Hall Academy Amendment Request
- The panel approved the Haas Hall Academy at The Lane amendment request to relocate the existing campus at 121 West Poplar Street to The Peaks Development at 2807 Ajax Avenue.
III.5. Consideration of the Academies of West Memphis District Conversion Charter Application Renewal
- The panel approved the Academies of West Memphis District Conversion Renewal application with a report to be provided halfway through the five-year renewal.
The district requested a renewal of its charter for five (5) years.
- The campus serves Grades 10-12.
- The current enrollment cap is 1300 students.
- The charter will follow the traditional educational model.
III.6. 2023 Charter School Data
- Tiffani Grayer and Jeffery Fetters, School Performance, Public School Accountability, presented state and federal accountability data.
