WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

FROM THE CHARTER SYSTEM FOUNDATION

The Charter System Foundation, Inc. was founded on the belief that meaningful change in education can occur only if principals, teachers, parents, and community partners are empowered with the authority and flexibility to make decisions at the school house level to best meet the individual needs of each student.

Back to School: A Year of Opportunity

Welcome back to another school year!

As Georgia’s Charter System leaders begin a new year, I am reminded of the incredible work happening across our state. Every day, Superintendents, school leaders, teachers, governance teams, and communities are using the flexibility of the Charter System model to find new and better ways to serve students.

Over the past several months, I have had the privilege of meeting with many of you and learning about the innovative work taking place in your districts. Thank you for sharing your successes, your challenges, and your vision for the future. For those we have not yet had the opportunity, I encourage you to contact the Foundation. We want to learn from you and understand how we can better support your work.

The year ahead will bring both opportunities and challenges. New legislative requirements involving literacy, mathematics, student technology, financial accountability, workforce development, and other areas will require thoughtful implementation. At the same time, Charter Systems continue to have opportunities to use flexibility to address local needs and pursue innovative solutions.

That is where the Charter System Foundation can make a difference.

Our role is to support you, advocate for you, connect you with one another, and help ensure the Charter System voice is heard by policymakers and state leaders. We will continue working with legislators, state agencies, and education partners while keeping our focus where it belongs—on helping you create better opportunities and outcomes for students.

As we begin this school year, I encourage you to use your flexibility, share your innovations, learn from one another, and continue challenging the status quo when it is in the best interest of students.

The Foundation is here to help.

Welcome back. We look forward to another year of learning, innovation, and purposeful flexibility across Georgia’s Charter Systems.

Perspectiv Newsletter

Have you ever wished your students' YouScience results pointed toward real career opportunities with employers in your own community?

We're taking it a step further: instead of just matching aptitudes and interests to job requirements, our new platform will match motivation and work-style to the day-to-day realities of those careers.

This fall, we're inviting a handful of districts to be part of shaping this from the ground up. Interested in learning more? Contact Meagan at meg@getperspectiv.com.

Georgia Council on Literacy

We’re proud to partner with the Georgia Council on Literacy—alongside the Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia City Solutions—for the Georgia Reads campaign, a statewide initiative recognizing and supporting community-driven efforts to advance literacy. As part of the campaign, our signature literacy program, READBowl, helped students across Georgia rack up over 61 million reading minutes, and more than 11,000 books were distributed to children throughout the state! Together, we’re inspiring a love of reading and empowering communities across Georgia to build a brighter, more literate future
