Our charter school transparency bill advances!

If AB 967 becomes law, you’ll see all charter schools post their educational spending plans online, engage parents through a committee process, and consult with parents of English learners—just like traditional public schools. The bill is a follow-up to our 2018 report that uncovered a massive failure on the part of charters to be transparent about how they spend millions of taxpayer dollars to benefit high need students.

Stopping the rise in homelessness

Research has shown a clear connection between increasing rents and the rise in homelessness. That's why we need you to contact your senator and tell them to support our bill, AB 1482 , which would outlaw rent gouging statewide. It would protect renters from unscrupulous landlords and help families stay in their homes.
