Welcome to the March 2017 edition of Chartwell Connections, a quarterly electronic update from Chartwell Agency with news from and insights about our clients and our team and about marketing trends and issues.  

I'm very proud to share some news with you on behalf of our talented team and our clients. 

Chartwell Agency recently earned five ADDY Awards from the regional chapter of the  American Advertising Federation (AAF) . The awards were presented on March 2 during a ceremony and reception at the Prairie Street Brewhouse in Rockford. The event and awards program honors the creative work of organizations, businesses and agencies in northern Illinois. Chartwell won the following:

Gold ADDY: Chartwell and design partner  Julia Kindler Design were honored with a Gold ADDY for their campaign for the  Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois. The campaign, called Choose Your Adventure, included print, digital, outdoor and collateral material. As a Gold ADDY winner, the campaign will be entered in the regional AAF awards, which includes entries from Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

Silver ADDY: Chartwell and design and production partners  Studio 22 and  TreeHaus Video earned a Silver ADDY for the "Brought to You By. . ." campaign developed  for  Rockford Bank & Trust. The campaign included television, print, outdoor, direct mail and digital.

Bronze ADDY: Chartwell and production partner  TreeHaus Video also won a Bronze ADDY for the television commercials created for Rockford Bank & Trust's "Brought to you by . . . " campaign. Four 15-second spots were created to promote the bank's wealth management and commercial services.

Bronze ADDY: Chartwell and design partner  Julia Kindler Design received a Bronze ADDY in the Public Service Direct Marketing and Specialty Advertising Campaign category for the Transform Rockford Progress Report developed for  Transform Rockford.

Bronze ADDY: Chartwell and design partner  Studio 22 earned a Bronze ADDY for the Life is More campaign developed for  First Free Rockford church. The campaign included print, digital, outdoor, banners and other collateral materials.
 
Our team is proud of the ADDY awards and the work we've produced on behalf of our clients and we're looking forward to a very successful 2017.

Brent Brodeski, Chief Executive Officer of Savant Capital Management, was  named the 2017 Rockford Citizen of the Year by the Rockford  Chamber of Commerce . Brent was honored at the Chamber's Annual Dinner in January and was recognized for his years of growing Savant and his philosophy of giving back to the community.  

 
In early March, Rocktown Adventures honored two heroes who saved a kayaker from drowning in the Rock River. Along with the members of the Rockford Fire Department, Rocktown staff took the opportunity to highlight the importance of water safety. 


 
There are many great things happening at First Free Rockford at Mulford and Spring Creek. Pastor Luke Uran (second from right) was recently named Lead Pastor and First Free's Restart Concert with Matthew West resulted in a donation of nearly $12,000 to the Rockford Public Schools








Orthopedic surgeons Brian Bear M.D. and Michael Chmell, M.D., from  OrthoIllinois  were recently honored . Dr. Bear was named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the fourth year in a row. Only 4 to 5 percent of doctors in America, who are nominated by peer physicians, earn this prestigious honor. Dr. Chmell earned a 5-Star Quality Rating from Consumers Checkbook for hip and knee replacement.




Monmouth College  President Dr. Clarence Wyatt was recently featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education's What I'm Reading  section, where he reviewed Robert Kennedy and His Times.

Catholic Diocese of Rockford

We will be working with the  Catholic Diocese of Rockford to assist with its communications initiatives. Chartwell will help the Diocese develop and implement communications strategies for schools and parishes within the Diocese as it reviews and implements new strategies for advancing Catholic education in the region.

Center for Sight & Hearing 

We were recently hired to provide messaging and branding services to the Center for Sight and Hearing in Rockford. Chartwell is partnering with Ignition Studio on the projects, which include message training, a new governing logo and tagline, identity materials, a website update and a 12-month integrated communications plan.

theFrana Group

We have been hired again to provide event services to  theFranaGroup , a Rockford-based health care consulting firm that provides solutions to Federally Qualified Health Centers. Chartwell will develop content, coordinate media relations and manage the planning and logistics for theFranaGroup's annual scholarship event at Burpee Museum, in collaboration with the Crusader Community Health Foundation, which presents four $1,000 scholarships to area students. 

Scottsdale Institute

We are teaming up with  Ignition Studio to develop a new website for the  Scottsdale Institute, a not-for-profit membership organization consisting of prominent health care institutions. The new site will align with the needs and expectations of Scottsdale's members and more effectively present industry information and the professional development the organization provides. 

Wesley Willows

We are providing services for two major projects for Wesley Willows in Rockford. The projects include a website redesign and a direct mail campaign for the Wesley Willows and Peterson Meadows communities. We are partnering with Ignition Studio on these projects as well, which will help create a strong parent brand for Wesley Willows that promotes both facilities' amenities to prospective residents.  The website redesign will include the latest navigation architecture, interface design, content development and installation of a Content Management System.

WilliamsMcCarthy, LLP

We recently worked with Ignition Studio to develop a new website for WilliamsMcCarthy,LLP , a Rockford-based law firm. The site includes the latest navigation architecture and content development tools.

 Chartwell in the Community 

President and Founder Rebecca Epperson received the Business Award during the YWCA of Northwestern Illinois Leader Luncheon on March 6. She also was elected to a three-year term on the YWCA Board of Directors.  

Vice President
Wester Wuori received a Community Service Award in March from the Rockford Park District and the Illinois Association of Park Districts.  In addition, he spoke to the Byron Chamber of Commerce about social media in January and to the 5th Grade at Marshall Middle School in March on writing and speechwriting.

Director
Karli Smith participated on a panel at the March meeting of the Rockford chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She shared her thoughts on the "Good, the Bad and the Ugly" of event planning.

Communications Strategist
Catherine Povalitis and Director Karli Smith helped organize a fashion show fundraiser in March for KFACT (Keeping Families and Communities Together). KFACT helps develop and mentor young girls in the Rockford Public School District.

Communications Strategist
Cassi Steurer recently joined the board of directors of the Mill Foundation a not-for-profit organization that provides funding to programs and organizations which help disadvantaged youth in the Rockford region.

  RoseAnn Haedt j oined fellow board members of the Golden Apple Foundation of Rockford on March 9 to present five local teachers with the Golden Apple Award.
