This is the 7th edition of the Chatham Borough Newsletter!  Each quarter, our newsletter will arrive via email to remind you of important upcoming events, key dates, and general information about what's happening in the Borough.  This and more can also be found on the Chatham Borough website.   
 
Please note that back issues of the newsletter are available online. 
     
Here are some of the highlights happening this winter.  We've made it a simple bullet list so it's easy to print and hang on the fridge!


Shorter days and getting colder---it's December:
  • December 24th Santa arrives at Firehouse Plaza---2 pm---Library closed
  • December 25th Christmas Day---Chanukah---Library closed
  • December 26th Christmas Holiday---Observed 1st Day of Kwanzaa---Municipal Offices, Library and Schools closed
  • December 27th Routes A & B Trash Pickup
 
Days are getting longer in January: 
  • January 1st Happy New Year!---Library closed
  • January 2nd New Year's Day---Observed - Municipal Offices, Library, Schools closed---No Trash Pickup
  • January 3rd Borough Council Reorganization Meeting 7:30 pm---Route A & B Trash Pickup
  • January 7th Rabies Clinic 9 am---11 am Firehouse
  • January 9th Christmas Tree Pickup
  • January 16th Martin Luther King, Jr. Day---Municipal Offices and Schools closed
  • January 31st Dog and Cat License Renewals Due
Look at the seed catalogs in February:
  • Property Taxes Due February 1st---February 10th
  • February 20th President's Day---Municipal Offices and Schools closed

Snow should be melting in March: 
 
  • MULCH AREA OPENS WEDNESDAY MARCH 8TH---1 pm---4 pm
  • March 11th Library Book Sale 9:30 am---4 pm
  • March 12th Library Book Sale 1 pm---4 pm
  • March 12th Daylight Saving Time Begins---Remember to change smoke detector batteries
  • March 13th---17th Library Book Sale 9:30 am---6 pm
  • March 20th Curbside Brush Pickup

Trash Pickup:
  • Mondays and Thursdays for Route A except as noted above
  • Tuesdays and Fridays for Route B except as noted above
Chatham Library:
  • Something is always happening at the Chatham Library.  Keep informed on happenings at the Chatham Library by reading the Library's monthly newsletter.
Chatham Recreation:

Registrations:
   Winter Registration is taking place for Women's Volleyball and Men's Over 35 Basketball.
   Spring Registration will begin in January for youth baseball, softball, lacrosse and track.
   Volunteers are a critical component of a programs' success.    If you can volunteer, please note that on your child's registration form.
   Activity information will be available on the Chatham Joint Recreation website.

Memorial Park Pool:
    The Memorial Park Pool is seeking interested residents for the Memorial Park Pool Advisory Committee. If you would like further information, please contact Carol Nauta.
    Planning for the 2017 season will begin and information posted regarding registration and early bird fees. Pool information is available on the Chatham Borough website.
