Here are some of the highlights happening this summer and important general information. We've made it a simple bulleted list so it's easy to print and hang on the fridge!
Look to the Sky in July:
Saturday is the Fourth of July! The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Hillside and Main Street. The parade will head west on Main Street to the Chatham Middle School.
Fourth of July Fireworks will be at the Chatham Middle School at dark (around 9:30 p.m.). Gates open at 7 p.m. for entertainment.
The Bob Campanell Band - South Jersey's premier vintage rock and soul band will be traveling straight from the South Jersey Shore to perform for the second Fourth of July in a row.
July 1st falls on a Wednesday, and we all know what that means: The Mulch Area is open every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and every Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
There is NO bulk pickup on Thursday, July 2nd and Friday, July 3rd. Bulk Pickup is on Thursday, July 9th and Friday, July 10th.
Friday, July 3rd, recycling will be rescheduled for Monday, July 6th.
Chatham Borough offices are closed all day on Friday, July 3rd.
The Farmer's Market will be open on July 4th.
The recycling depot and mulch area will be closed on July 4th!
The Dog Days of August:
After all the excitement of July, the lazy, hazy days of August arrive. If you pay your property taxes yourself, you may do so online during August 1st through 10th at www.chathamborough.org.
Bulk pickup is on the first Thursday and Friday of the month in August.
See You in September:
Bulk pickup is on the first Thursday and Friday of the month in September.
The first day of school for Chatham students is Thursday, September 3rd, then everyone can enjoy one last summer hurrah on Labor Day Weekend.
Labor Day unofficially marks the end of summer, and on September 7th, all Chatham Borough offices and schools are closed.
There is no trash pickup on Labor Day. Trash will be picked up on Tuesday, September 8th, for Routes A & B.
Chatham Borough will hold its annual 9-11 ceremony on Friday, September 11th. See the Chatham Borough website for details in September.
The Green Fair is on Saturday, September 19th this year.
On September 26th the Flu Clinic will be held at the United Methodist Church.
All Summer Long:
The Chatham Library is closed on Sundays during the summer months.
Borough offices close each Friday at 1:00 p.m. during the summer months.
Please remember that water restrictions are still in place: Lawn watering may be conducted only between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. If your house number is odd, then you may only water on odd days, and if your house number is even, then you may only water on even days.
