Cheap Trick have lifted the curtain on the official music video for “The Best Thing,” featuring exclusive footage filmed during the band’s farewell performance last October at Tokyo, Japan’s famed Nippon Budokan. One of the standout tracks on Cheap Trick’s acclaimed 2025 studio album, All Washed Up, “The Best Thing” is streaming now at YouTube. In addition, a short film recently premiered detailing Cheap Trick’s return to Budokan, capturing the special connection shared by the band, the country of Japan, and their incredible Japanese fans – a bond as alive today as it was in 1978 when Cheap Trick first played the iconic venue.
“Keep your eyes open,” says Robin, Rick, Tom, and Daxx. “Because you never know where, who, or when the best thing in your life is gonna happen.”

Cheap Trick is currently celebrating All Washed Up – as well as their legendary body of work thus far – with The All Washed Up Tour, a US headline run underway now with dates set through late April. Highlights include a two-night at stand at Las Vegas, NV’s The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas on April 17-18. Long known as one of the hardest working bands in rock ‘n’ roll history, Cheap Trick will continue on the road with a May run supporting Styx, additional headline shows, top-billed festival appearances including Louisville, KY’s Bourbon & Beyond 2026 (September 27), and a one-night-only show alongside ZZ Top at Los Angeles, CA’s legendary Hollywood Bowl on August 6. For complete details and ticket information, please visit www.cheaptrick.com/tour-dates.html.
Cheap Trick’s 21st studio album, All Washed Up is out now via BMG. Produced by Cheap Trick with longtime associate Julian Raymond and mixed by 5x GRAMMY® Award-winner Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Dave Matthews Band), All Washed Up includes such immediate fan favorites as “The Riff That Won’t Quit” and the anthemic first single, “Twelve Gates,” the latter of which was met by immediate praise from such outlets as Ultimate Classic Rock, which hailed it as “a sweet slab of psychedelic guitars, sugary pop-rock hooks and lush, Beatlesque vocal harmonies.” American Songwriter agreed, writing, “The mid-tempo rock song features psychedelic and power-pop elements reminiscent of The Beatles, not surprising for a group that’s always been so heavily and unrepentantly influenced by the Fab Four.”

PRAISE FOR CHEAP TRICK + ALL WASHED UP
“Cheap Trick has lost little of their oddball nature or knack for a well-placed riff…When the gems arrive, they hit with a force…More than 50 years since their formation, Cheap Trick has weathered the changes, both in the industry and otherwise, with ease.
All washed up? Don't count them out yet.”
– ULTIMATE CLASSIC ROCK
“Their trademark bubblegum choruses are all reassuringly present, with a handful of songs here good enough to tough it out with anything on their early revered studio albums.”
– MOJO
“All Washed Up is an impressive mix of high-octane rockers, grinding hard rock, tender ballads, and shimmering pop songs, all delivered with a wink and a kick in the pants. So, it's pretty much business as usual…The album is Cheap Trick through and through, every song a reminder of how their past achievements were truly special, while at the same time letting everyone know they are still cranking out songs with all the manic energy, gleeful abandon, and pure pop songcraft they've embraced from the start.”
– ALLMUSIC
“Nielsen – a man famed for his inventive writing and his guitars – is still a creative force and an imaginative player…and despite having a slightly lower register now, Zander demonstrates why he’s still one of the great voices in rock…There’s a lot going on here on what is
a balanced and well-crafted album. Neither washed up nor hung out to dry,
these legendary US funsters still have something to say.”
– RECORD COLLECTOR
“From the first riff, which hasn’t come to make small talk, Cheap Trick are plainly here to do what they do best. Punkily raucous but never losing control, these septuagenarians are still tapped into the motherlode of rock, 48 years since their debut. They’re still bright beasts who understand its essence: they know it, own it, like Parliament knew funk, like ABBA knew pop, like Hank knew country… Still singing of wanting to touch you and be touched, of getting it on and whamming and booming and banging, Cheap Trick stay eternally youthful,
loyal servants of a genre which is lucky to have their priceless magic.”
– CLASSIC ROCK (****)
