Welcome to this issue of the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce Newsletter!   This newsletter goes out to nearly 2000 individual emails and is posted on our   facebook page  each week.  It is designed to keep you informed of the latest info from your local Chamber of Commerce.   Feel free to forward this Newsletter to someone who should be a member or is interested in information about what is going on in the Cheboygan Area.  We want our information to get to as many inboxes as possible!  Be sure to also visit our web site and community calendar at www.cheboygan.com/calendar/ for more information.

State of the Community Breakfast October 5.  

On the morning of October 5th 2018, at the Cheboygan Opera House , the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce will produce its 2018 State of the Community Breakfast.  The goal of this event is to report the most accurate and up to date information to the community on a variety of topics through key note speakers and a compiled report from many of the organizations doing the economic and community development work.  Click here for more information on topics and speakers presenting .

Tickets are $10 per person or $15 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Chamber Office or by calling 231-627-7183.  They can also be purchased on line at www.cheboygan.com.  

We hope to see everyone there at this great event for our community.

Cheboygan Area Featured in Crain's Detroit Business

October 11th Business After Hours Info.

Golden River Orchard will host our 5th Annual Business After Hours on October 11th from 5:00-7:00PM.  Come out and see the awesome fall colors and enjoy some fresh Honeycrisp apples or pick a pumpkin from our patch.  We will have some great food and beverages to enjoy with your friends and family.  Knaffle's Tent Rental & Mini Storage is participating again with us this year, as a cosponsor so that everyone stays comfortable in case of weather.  

This event is always one of the most popular After Hours on the schedule and a great way to kick off the fall season in Cheboygan! 

Cost is $10 for general public and just $5 for Chamber Members.

Brandt's Sports Center Open and Rebuilding

After a devastating fire this summer Brandt's Sports Center would like everyone to know that they are open, operating and rebuilding.  Click here to visit their facebook page to get the latest updates and to get ready for winter trail ridding.

Nathan Towne Brings Big Surprises to Cheboygan on Sunday

Travis T. Warren, lead singer of Blind Melon, joins Nathan Towne Sunday Oct. 7th on the Cheboygan Opera House stage. Warren joined the international rock sensation Blind Melon as front man in 2006, replacing Shannon Hoon. He was voted "Best Replacement Frontman" by Rolling Stones Magazine in 2009 . Warren's voice has been compared to Robert Plant.
Also joining Towne on stage is Bruce Dondero of Ann Arbor on bass. Dondero is one of Michigan's finest jazz musicians. Dondero says, "The Opera House is like a mini Hill Auditorium," comparing it to University of Michigan's Hill Auditorium, renowned for its magnificent acoustics.  Click here for the full press release.

Calcite Credit Union Celebrating 10 Years

Join Calcite Credit Union on October 25, 2018 as they celebrate 10 years serving Cheboygan! 
To help celebrate, there will be cash give-a-ways all day from their money tree.  
Everyone is invited to a small reception from 4:00pm-6:30 p.m. with a Celebratory Toast at 6:00 p.m.  As they told us...."We look forward to celebrating with our great community!"

Bake Sale to Benefit Student Tuition Assistance 

Cornerstone Christian School is holding a bake sale on Friday October 12 at Family Fare from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.  All monies raised go to student tuition assistance.

Come in One More Time.....

....before they close for the season on October 13.  The owners, management and staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited the Hack-Ma-Tack this year.  They said they had a great season and they hope you all had a great summer too and they look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
