State of the Community Breakfast October 5.  Tickets on Sale Now.

In case you haven't noticed, there is a lot going on in Cheboygan these days. There are at least one or two new businesses opening each week it feels like. Some buildings are being renovated while others are coming down to make way for the next page of history. There are also numerous groups and organizations that are actively involved in so many different causes and efforts, for the betterment of Cheboygan, that sometimes it is hard to know which one to follow.   The Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce would like to help clear up some of that potential confusion.

On the morning of October 5th 2018, at the Cheboygan Opera House, the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce will produce its State of the Community Breakfast.  The goal of this event is to report the most accurate and up to date information to the community on a variety of topics through key note speakers and a compiled report from many of the organizations doing the economic and community development work.  Click here for more information on topics, speakers presenting and how to attend this event.

Tickets are $10 per person or $15 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Chamber Office or by calling 231-627-7183.  They can also be purchased on line at

We hope to see everyone there at this great event for our community.

Spooky Specters and Lurking Lutins Await at Fort Fright October 5-6

Be wary of were-wolves and look out for lutins as you walk the lantern-lit path along the shore of Lake Michigan to Colonial Michilimackinac for Fort Fright the evenings of October 5 and 6. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (last admission at 8:30 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday, eighteenth- century French-Canadian folklore comes to life. Visitors must tread lightly on the path along the shoreline, because as the sun sets on the horizon, all manner of monsters take over the fort and eagerly await your arrival inside. There are campfires glowing in the night where a voyageur tells eerie tales and warns you of the terror that might await you, before you approach the guarded gates of Colonial Michilimackinac. You are now on your own to enter the wooden palisade, a frightening world of fun and phantoms wrapped into one.
