Raising Digital Citizens: Keeping Kids Safe Online & Smart on Social Media

After Hours Write Club - Every other Tuesday, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Mill Library - The After Hours Write Club is a writing workshop facilitated by local author Anthony Carnovale. Nature Journaling Workshop for Adults - Sunday, August 17, 1 to 3 p.m. - Join Billie Jo Reid, outdoor and nature journal educator, for this hands-on workshop. No artistic ability is required. Meet at the Mill Library and then go as a group to the Mill Sqaure Park. Please register in advance.
Orange thREADs - Tuesday, August 19, 1 p.m., Mill Library - Share your passion for reading and all things fibre arts. Join this friendly group at the Mill Library in the Community Living Room for an afternoon of conversation and connection. New members are always welcome.

Story Sharing Circle - Tuesday, September 23, 7 p.m., Mill Library. Join community champion Farzaneh Peterson and our Program and Research Coordinator, Shannon McGrady as we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with a story sharing circle. Participants are invited to read a book(s) by an Indigenous author of their choosing throughout the month of September and then join in circle with others as we share what we learned and the impact it had on our journey of learning the truths.Registration coming soon.
100% Certainty Book Club - Join Bethell Hospice and the Orangeville Public Library as we read and discuss books that explore themes of life, love and loss. The next meeting is on Thursday, October 2, 7 p.m., Mill Library. Copies of the The Measure by Nikki Erlick are available to borrow. Registration coming soon.

Fun for Kids all Summer
There is still lots of time to join the TD Summer Reading Club for children 12 and under. Read books and attend programs to earn ballots toward our weekly draw. See the events calendar on the library's website for more details.
Mondays - Adventures in the Park - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kay Cee Gardens, 29 Bythia St. Each week there will be a special guest reader. Recommended for ages 6 and under.
Wednesdays - Kids Club (ages 5 to 8) - August 6 to August 20, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Mill Library. Drop in program
Wednesdays - ECRR with Babies (newborn to 18 months) - 1 p.m. in Storyland at the Mill Library.
Thursdays - Family Storytime (everyone welcome) - 10:30 a.m. Stories and a craft in Storyland at the Mill Library.
Thursdays - Tween Club (ages 9 to 12) - August 7 to August 21, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Mill Library. Drop in program
Crafty Creations is on Saturday at Mill and Mondays at Alder. We provide an assortment of craft materials; you provide the creativity! For children of all ages with a parent/caregiver · Drop in program with a new craft every week - available while supplies last.

Dance Party - Tuesday, August 26
Wrap up a great summer of reading with music, dancing, treats and prizes.
Please register in advance (one form per child). This program is for children 12 and under.
As the dance party is after the Mill Library closes for the day, parents are required to remain in the library during the program.

Tuesday, August 5, 6 to 8 p.m., Movie Night - Enjoy the magic of the modern classic, Moana. Your night will be made even more special by spending time in the Orangeville Public Library after hours! We encourage participants to wear their comfiest pajamas and bring their favourite blankets. We’ve got the snacks covered! Please register to let us know you plan to attend.
Saturday, August 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Around the World Scavenger Hunt - Drop by the Mill St. Library to take part in a scavenger hunt! Complete challenges while getting to know your local library and the world around you better! No registration is required, just stop by the front desk and ask for a scavenger hunt map.
Tuesday, August 19, 6 to 8 p.m., Match Game - How well do you know your family? Now it’s time to put that knowledge to the test! In Match Game, two families will battle it out to see who knows their family best. If you can guess your family members’ answers to silly questions, you may just be going home with a prize! Please register - there are three time slots available (6:00, 6:45, and 7:30) with each game lasting about 30 minutes. This game works best with teams of 4 to 6 people.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge - Ages 13 to 17
Log every book you read this summer, until August 24, for a chance to win great prizes. Every time you finish a summer read, quickly complete the entry form to tell us about the book. Completed forms will be entered into a weekly draw. There are eight draws over the summer so there is lots of opportunity to win! Each week opens on Monday and closes on Sunday at midnight.

Adult Summer Reading BINGO - Why should kids have all the fun? Adults can play our summer reading BINGO for a chance to win prizes! Beginning July 2, pick up a card from either location of the library. Fill the appropriate squares as you read books all summer long - until the official end of summer on September 21. Every line completed gets a ballot to enter the draw!
