Fun for Kids: March 10 to 14 | |

Enjoy Live Performances each morning at Orangeville District Secondary School (22 Faulkner Street). The five shows are presented by professional children's entertainers and are approximately 45 minutes in length. Each show requires a ticket for parents and children (infants on a lap do not need a ticket).

Tickets are available (cash only) in advance at either library location or at the door on the day of the performance while supplies last.

Join us for a special Experts in the Library presentation featuring Dr. Samra Zafar. In "Unconditional: Break through past limits to transform your future", Samra shares everything she has learned, as a woman, a physician, and a mother, about unlearning the harmful beliefs we store deep within ourselves.
Samra Zafar is an award-winning, internationally renowned speaker, physician, author and educator. She has been recognized among the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, the Top 25 Most Inspirational Women in Canada, and the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants. Please RSVP in advance to attend.

Coffee, Conversation and Books
Wednesday, April 16, 7 p.m., Grand Valley
Come out to Coffee, Conversation & Books and chat with local authors while enjoying a warm cup of coffee. The first event of 2025 is on Wednesday, April 16, 7 p.m. at the Grand Valley Public Library - 4 Amaranth Street E. - featuring author Sonia Day. This is a drop-in program.
"The Newfoundland Lunch Party: A Sisters of the Soil Novel With Recipes" was released in July 2024. It's a novel about female friendships, fun food and The Rock. This is the second book in the series - The Sisters of the Soil were introduced in The Mexico Lunch Party.
OPL partners with the Grand Valley and Shelburne libraries to feature local authors in Dufferin County coffee shops.

Stronger Together: Braiding Wisdom, Uniting Community - Saturday, March 15 - The Brave Canoe in partnership with the Dufferin Community Foundation and Orangeville Public Library will host a community gatherings at the Mill Library open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants. Two sessions are available based on age group: 12 to 2 p.m. for ages 11 to 18 and 3 to 5 p.m. for ages 18+ Please register in advance.
After Hours Write Club - Every other Tuesday, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Mill Library - The After Hours Write Club is a writing workshop facilitated by local author Anthony Carnovale. Please register in advance to attend this program and don't forget to pack your writing supplies. See the website events calendar for dates.
Orange thREADs - Tuesday, March 18, 1 p.m., Mill Library - Share your passion for reading and all things fibre arts. Join this friendly group at the Mill Library in the Community Living Room for an afternoon of conversation and connection. New members are always welcome.
Headwaters Writers' Guild Spring Open Mic - Sunday, April 6, 1 to 3 p.m., Mill Library - Join featured Poet Peter Taylor for an afternoon showcasing local writers as they share their work in honour of National Poetry Month. Teen Trivia Night
Friday, March 14, 7 p.m.
The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) hosts their ever popular Trivia Night during the March Break. Open for teens 13 to 17. Grab a friend and register for this fun filled and competitive event. Tasty snacks and laughs included.

Nature Journaling Worksop
Sunday, April 27, 1 to 3 p.m.
Join Billie Jo Reid, Outdoor and Nature Journal Educator for this hands-on workshop as we travel outdoors and connect with nature through documenting our observations, questions and connections. No artistic ability is required just a love of nature and a sense of wonder and curiosity! Meet in the Community Living Room at our Mill St. location. All ages are welcome. Don't forget to dress for the weather.

From March 3 to April 25, the library is hosting the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) at the Mill Library. Eligible individuals with a modest income and simple tax situation can have their 2024 taxes prepared by a volunteer, free of charge. The walk-in clinic to meet with a volunteer is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. More | |

The Town experienced a cybersecurity incident on February 27. Disruption to library services is minimal. You can continue to borrow items, place holds and renew your library material. The public access computers are available. At this time, public Wi-Fi at the Mill Library and printing, fax and scanning at both locations are not available.
